Are X Rays Harmful To A Baby

I had an x-ray at the dentist's office and an abdominal x-ray for vomitting? I don't know what they were hoping to find. Are these harmful to a baby? I really need to know. If you could ask your doctors it would save me calling telehealth ontario to ask the question.
