7 Weeks Late Still Negative Hpt S

Hello all. I don't think this is really a pregnancy question and it may even sound silly, but here it is. I stopped taking birth control pill in March after being on them for three months after ending the depo shot for two years. I had a regular period through May. In June af came one week earlier than expected (which I didn't find unsusual). Around the end of June, maybe the beginning of July, I started feeling nausea and extreme fatigue. I took a hpt twice that were negative then go my July period for three and half days when it is usually five days. I spotted for two days before my flow began. July 31, I spotted again and then had a somewhat regular flow on August 1 through 3rd and spotted for the last two days again. I have still been having strange symptoms and even have a flutter like movement in my stomach and a tightening feeling that you can compare to braxton hicks, which my doctor says is probably just gas. I got af on the 27th of August that ended on the 29th after only three days again. This time I barely cramped, and I usually have out of this world pms. I've had repeat negative urine pregnancy tests and can't understand what could be wrong with me. I've been pregnant three times, so I somewhat embarra__sed that I don't know this. Does anyone out there have any suggestions?

Thanks so much to everyone who has posted on this site. I have felt truly alone and scared before reading this just now. Perhaps I'll catch some sleep tonight now. Here's my story. 3 weeks ago I missed my period and have tested negative ever since. I went to my doc and saw a loc_m who said I could still be pregnant, just keep testing. However, things started to fit together. Usually my periods are very heavy and last for up to 10 days. The 2 to 3 periods before my missed one were really light with bright red blood and lasting only a few days. Throughout that whole time I have been putting "weight" on only on my belly and looking increasingly pregnant. I have a 5 year old daughter and by the time I was 16 weeks pregnant I looked as large as I do now (which is like 6 months for most people!). Everywhere else is slim. I also have started to feel movements like I did with my daughter. By my reckoning I could be as far gone as 20 weeks. So I went back to my doc who is an older male doc and he was skeptical (despite my size!!!!). He had a really rough feel around my stomach and said he could find no "pregnancy structures" and tried to find a heart beat with a sonic detector which he placed on my groin????! He couldn't find one and said it was impossible to tell. Due to my insistence he has referred me to have an US which could come through any day. I went home that night and had dreadful cramps. Being in the UK I rang NHS Direct ( a help-line) and they told me to get myself down to A & E (ER equivalent). After 5 hours of blood tests , urine tests, stomach prodding and rude junior docs I was told that everything had come back negative so I couldn't be pregnant but my "acute abdominal distension" was very concerning so I was wheeled down to have an X Ray. The X Ray man refused to X Ray me as he said my notes suggested that I might have a sub-acute abdominal obstruction and that in all his years he had never seen anyone come in for an X Ray who looks so clearly pregnant. He argued with the doctor and I ended up being sent home with the doctor telling me I probably have ovarian disease!!!! But only an US will tell. So I came home and from my net searches I've convinced myself I must have ovarian cancer. I am 40 years old and was delighted to think that I was pregnant but to be told that you are not, when you feel it (tiredness, swollen sore b___sts, moodiness etc etc) and to cap it all you may have a disease which means that you cannot have children has been devastating. All of my friends have been cold comfort telling me to stop thinking about it until I get the results of the US. But as you ladies know you carry it around with you 24/7 don't you. Thanks for helping me to realise that I'm not going mad.

Marek - September 11

Hi everyone. I wanted to say that your questions and answers are so uplifting and the support is overwhelming, especially with the people who need it most. I wanted to share my story as well. I have a DS who is almost 2 years old. Picture Perfect-By the Book Pregnany. But afterwards, I sufferd chronic lower back pain for the first day or two when AF arrives. I went off my Copper IUD in mid July. Beginning of August, AF arrived as expected, but really horrible backpain and large amounts of *ahem*. Sorry, I'm trying to leave out the gory details! I figure it might have been my first m/c. :o( We aren't using protecting either. I was due for AF at the beginning of September, but instead had 3 days of bright red streaks, then the 4th day of light to brown spotting. It stopped after that. AF usually lasts about one week, not 4 days! The other funny thing is, there isn't any back pain! I am 12 days late for my actual period. Three HPT are negative as well as a doctors urine test too is negative. What's interesting is that when I was pregnant with my son, all hpt were negative until I was entering my second trimester. I am wondering if this is what's happening to me again. I am sorry for the *graphic details, but would like some insight is you have any. God Bless to everyone and hope that your dreams really do come true! PS I have experienced b___st tenderness for 3 days prior to spotting (I NEVER had this, except when I was pregnant with my son!), and a larger appet_te as well. I stay up late and wake up early, which I do have to stop, so I can't say for sure if I am partly fatigued due to pregnany, if this is the case. Thank you to all, your stories are inspiring!

Hi everybody. I've just been told that my "urgent" scan which was ordered over a week ago will be on the 27th september, which is 3 weeks from request. I've been told that it can only be speeded up if the doc rings in and says it's an emergency. I don't know about you guys but what gets me angry is that I feel like the medical staff don't understand how stressful it is carrying around an unknown quant_ty for weeks on end not knowing whether you are going to hear the best news in the world or the worst. Yesterday I was so stressed with my workload at work on top of this that I had a migraine and started to spot blood. Thankfully it stopped when I sat down and rested. If they truly believed that I was carrying a baby I just know I'd be given an US within 48 hours as friends who have spotted have been given one. It makes me mad! Sorry to moan but at least I know you all understand.

Kirsty - September 15

I'm the same - I need to know if I am pregnant but don't know how to find out if tests don't work. I never miss periods & have nearly missed two!

Buglet - September 18

I wanted to inform you about my last pregnancy test I recently took. I'm about 6.5 weeks preggo, presumming! I didn't find out until I was 11 weeks preggo last time I was pregnant. This time, I took the First Response preg test, and it was negative. I have another doc appt. on the 3rd of October! We'll see how that turns up. The doctor who is standing in for my other doctor atm is very thorough too, I love her! I'm also planning on getting married to my fiance of many many years in June, and if I am preggo, I will be due in Mid-May!!! How exciting! I Wish everyone luck and the best for each and everyone of you.

Britaney - September 18

to helen: that would make me angry to. as you have read i found out i had a cyst on my ovary. well i went to the doc on sept 2 and all she did was feel on my stomach. she told me she doesnt think theres nuthing to worry about but since the emergency room was concerned about the size of it she scheduled me for another ultra sound on the 26th. the wierd thing that this perion i had last week i pa__sed alot of clots all at once and the only time i have ever done that is when i had a miscarriage back in feb. i also had horrible cramps so bad that i couldnt sleep. i don't know whats going on but hopefully im alrite. to buglet: i wish you the best i know its very stressful but you always have to keep your head up. i wish the best to all of you.

Tabitha - September 22

Congrats Mandy, your baby will be here in a matter of days. This is such an awesome story. I am 11 days late now, with tons of negative tests. I'm waiting until I miss 2 full periods before I insist on an ultrasound. I desperately want to be PG. Congrats again!
