35 Amp Pregnant With A Dating Question

I hope i'm in the right place...but i need help. a little background. first day of last AF was 12/01/08. got a positive hpt on 12/31/08. so i had my first dr appt on 1/25/09 thinking i was about 8 weeks and the dr said 8+ weeks. so i went in yesterday to get an ultrasound to make sure dates were correct and they are dating me at 6 weeks but nobody seems concerned saying that i could have just ovulated later. i don't see how it's possible to be THAT far off and everything be okay. no heartbeat yet but they said that's normal. i go back in 2 weeks but i've been down this road before with a bad outcome and i guess i'm just expecting the worst. i have no signs of a miscarriage and they said everything looks right for a normal pregnancy at 6 weeks but the dates just don't add up to me. i guess i don't really have a question...more of a what do you think?
