I just turned 39 and have been trying to get pregnant for about 2 years (I have a 6 year old son). Signs of my period came on Saturday however, I got a small amount of blood on Sunday and Monday but not enough to fill a pad or tampon. No sign of anything since Monday. My periods are very normal - always on time and I fill a pad or tampon for at least two to three days straight. Why is this the lightest period I have ever had - is it pre-menopause or pregnancy or just a light period?

Not sure quite yet but it could be implantation bleeding (and subsequently pregnancy).. try taking a HPT in a few days.. good luck!!!!

Wow, I just read a bunch of Q&A on implantation bleeding. Seems everyone has brown spotting as opposed to red blood. I always get brown spotting before the actual red blood flow. This time though, no brown, only red but very light. I took a HPT today, it was negative. I'll take it again in a few days. I j. Wacked out hormones won't help me get pregnant! Thanks.
