Hello Perl, I have been through renovations on our home on and off over the past few years. I could not imagine having to go through that during a pregnancy. As for your c-section....I can't belive your doctor forgot to schedule it!!!! Hopefully the baby does not decide to make an early apperance. Keep us posted.

MICSMMS3: are you still here? i'm sorry I've been absent from this thread for a bit and I don't know your story. Are you currently pregnant and if so how far along? Does it look like an actual rash or is it just itchy (and then red after you itch)? I had that with my last pregnancy and starting to get it with this one too. My itching started on my feet and palms and then my lower back and everywhere else. I itched NON-STOP for 6 weeks and near the end of my pregnancy all I did was cry and think about to killing myself. In my case it was Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy. It happens when bile spills out into your bloodstream. There is nothing that will help it except delivering the baby. Don't bother with antihistamines and I've found that the more I scratch the worse it gets. The only relief is cool showers. I've read that Actigall helped some women. My doctor gave me Cholestyramine to draw cholesterol and bile out of my intestines with my bowel movements. It tasted and looked a lot like Metamucil. So take Metamucil a few times a day and avoid foods that will activate too much bile in your system. If you're not pregnant I've heard of people with liver problems having itchiness problems too.

Dogmom: thank you and congratulations on your pregnancy. The funny thing is that with my first pregnancy, my Doctor also went on vacation during my 37th week and that's when I had my baby. Here I am again in 37th week and Dr. on vacation the coincidence surprised me and got me to thinking 'what if my baby comes while the Doc is on vacation again?' Unlike Leslie though, my BH contractions are not as intense or painful--yet. I just read your previous comments about party friends who go negative on you. Most of my friends starting having their babies about a year or two ahead of me and I could only be happy and excited for them so it's really odd to me when a couple of my "friends" all of sudden seemed to drop off the face of the earth.

hi ladies....sorry its been so long. was in the hospital from saturday afternoon until monday night...thought labor was imminent, but never progressed past 3 centimeters, and since i am having a csection, they wanted to keep an eye on me. they did an amnio to check the baby's lungs, but they were still a bit immature to deliver him and sent me home. now i am on bedrest but i seriously doubt ill make it to my scheduled date of 8/22. my mom flew in early for moral support and to hang as my hubby wont take off until the birth. i am starting to swell and am so miserable...anyway, hope everyone is well.

Lesliem, I know it's easier said than done, but try to hang in there. 8/22 just seems like an eternity. Remember you have us here for support.

I have been following several threads in here and decided to join this one too. I'm on cd5...and very hopeful that this will be the month....not only for me, but for every single lady in here that has been trying. Krissy** I haven't seen you in a couple days..how are you doing? Baby dust to all the ones trying and lots and lots of patience for the ones waiting!

Clindholm, my remark on the "area" of where you live was part of the equation. I do think some regions have certain stereo types and social pressures...more so then other areas. I think it can be a combination of things. Yes, I do think it also pertains to the individual and how they feel about their own lives. I feel bad that Dogmom, you are experiencing this. Try not to take it personally...I can't imagine my friends not calling anymore b/c I am pregnant. Although, it did cross my mind the other night..I was thinking "what if they stopped calling b/c they don't think I want to have fun anymore or that they could be jealous"? So, the thought sis cross my mind. Then again, if that's the way a "friend" is going to act..then as my grandmother says; "You need them like you need a hole in the head". At this age, it's good to filter out the ones who are "fairweather" and keep the ones who are truely loyal and supportive. I have also heard that you meet a whole new slew of friends though your baby, where you are able to share similiar experiences. I think certain people come into our lives for a reason, when that reason is taken care of...they move on and we meet new and wonderful people who can support us through what we are living at that moment. Dogmom, again, I am sorry...no one should have to put up with that. At least now, you probably know who your true friends are. Clindholm...I love New England more then any other place...I hope you don't think I was slamming New England...it's my native land.

Dogmom: that's a pretty strange dress code for a party unless its a poolside bbq or beach party but I hope the dress code is optional. I guess it's nice that she thought of inviting you, sort of.

Thanks Perl, I feel the dress code thing is a bit strange myself. I just don't feel as social anymore, maybe its the hormones, or maybe it's just me knowing I am starting a whole new life. I am so excited about becomming a mom. There is nothing else that can compare to this feeling or excite me more.

Hi All, just checking into this thread. Im 20 weeks- newer to realizing- have known for about 1 month. I'm doing good- except for a rash that keeps coming up. Last night I had terrible painful cramping low down, near my bladder and up a bit on the left side. I talked with a doctor and they said it was either a pulled muscle, or gas. It had me doubled over in pain, and it was frightening. Thank god, it went away and I've felt fine today. I'm having genetic counceling Monday, along with finding out what my quad test results are in order to establish risks, and decide upon more tests- such as the amnio. Wish us luck! Would love to stop there with the tests and not do another!

Wow, Leslie, I had a feeling that something was up with you. I'm so sorry to hear that you were in the hospital and that you're not feeling well, but good that you and baby were being monitored. I'm a little surprised that they didn't just perform the c-section already, I thought babies born just a few weeks early could survive perfectly outside the womb but aparently not and better safe than sorry. What is your actual due date? My c section is actually scheduled during my 39th week on 8/19 at 1:00 (I checked today). My due date is 8/29 so I'm going 1 1/2 week early. With my last pregnancy my c-section was 3 weeks early because of preeclampsia. Each case is different though and I know that the longer the baby stays inside the better off/stronger they will be once they are born. It won't be long now, you are almost there even though it seems like forever when you feel so sick.

Micsmom: gas or pulled muscle. Do you have strenous abdominal workouts or something. Did they suggest it could be round ligament pain too from everything stretching out? Best of luck to you with genetic counseling and testing--it's exciting but stressful at the same time isn't it? Let us know how it goes.

Geez, no workouts at all for me or strenuous abdominal anything. The doctor did say it could be round ligament pain. Another culprit- just my own opinion/guess- was that I ate a whole wheat english muffin- I am trying to switch for healthier eating- and I never ever eat wheat anything- so i thought maybe that did a number on me. I haven't had the pains reoccur since that afternoon/evening, thank god for that.

Perl - congratulations on your last stretch! Your babies will be almost the same age apart as mine - it will be OK, while the baby is an infant, it's not a big deal. When the baby turns toddler - watch out! But even then it pa__ses, too. Reading about your pregnancies ladies make me want to have another one - even with the reminder of the last weeks with all that itchiness, sciatic nerve and all that.

Micsmom: I had itching at the end of my first trimester last pregnancy that was probably hormone related. Then the itching a__sociated with Cholestasis of pregnancy started in my 34th week. Here I am in my 2nd pregnancy with cholestasis again that started last week, my 37th week. The blood test I took last Friday confirmed elevated bile acids in my blood and the Dr. suggested performing my c-section one week early this week instead of next week but fetal monitoring check out alright. More fetal monitoring in two days and then on Monday the day before my scheduled C. I truly hope it's not what you end up getting, it's a miserable state to be in. Thanks In the Woods! I'm thinking things will get really hectic when this baby starts crawling but walking oh boy will I have my hands full!! HA ha---I know I'll be tired but looking forward to it.

My update, had my genetic counsiling and quad test results reading yesterday. All seemed to be fine- the ratios seemed high enough for us to feel comfortable that everything is going ok. The downs ratio was 1/444 and the others were 1/1000+++. We decided against going with the amnio, as those results aren't 100% anyway, and the ratio was 1/200 for miscarriage.... And that scared us. So, I suppose my big tests are done. I totally forgot to talk about my itching, because I was so stressed about the genetic counsling, and the possible amnio. Oh well, next time... How is everyone?
