This is my first posting..I am 37 husb 39 been thru all testing no reason why we can not get preg! Took clomid 1st cycle with no iui. Then have had 3 clomid cycles with iui. Really thought we were preg this time, cycle went 36 days always (reg28). I see some of you having folicles tested, lining tested, and having iui 2x, hcg injections etc. Is this normal? I plan to call my dr in the am a freak...

Hi - I'm sorry you have not had success yet, but hang in there. Maybe I can help. I, too, am in my third clomid cycle (cd4, clomid day 2 - 100 mg) , and was very surprised it did not happen for us this time. We had four wonderful follicles, but I guess it wasn't our time, yet. I had 2 mc, so I know we can get pregnant, but this time has taken forever! Anyway, my old specialist used 50mg clomid days 5-9, and we barely had a follicle. Are you getting u/s prior to the procedure so you know what's happening? Apparently, more clomid = more follicles. After the u/s, that dr gave me a shot of hcg to promote ov. i never trusted/liked that dr, though - I felt did not listen to me. We went to him for 9-10 months, and nothing. My new dr. gave me 100 mg, and ovidrel post u/s to promote ov, then 2 days later the iui. I guess my point is I know people who have gone to both with success, so probably either works. Accd to my new dr., they should test your fsh levels several times to make sure your level is good. You should be able to discuss all of your concerns, questions, with your dr. if you are not getting the info you need to decrease your stress, then you may want to consider another dr. I resisting changing for months b/c I was afraid of the time and restarting and all that might entail, but when I finally changed, what a difference. I am way more serene and less-stressed now. My questions are being answered, and I understand what and why things are happening. Also, I jumped mid-treatment, and started clomid with old dr, and iui with new. So, call you dr., ask your questions, and don't stop until you feel satisfied. The not-knowing is so stressful, which never helps. Also, if this is a specialist, but you can't talk to him/her, you could always discuss your concerns with your regular ob/gyn. If you are not with a specialist, it may be time to start. Good Luck! And please keep me posted.
