gowingstjc-Hope all is well with you.
Krissy68- Good luck with your test results. By the way I'm from Toledo.

Hi ladies, Sorry I have been absent, work hours are kicking my b___t and I have had a nasty cold for the last two weeks.
Toothfairy - FF is a great website that you can use to chart your BBTs. I use the free portion, but you can also pay a little per month and get some nice perks like when to take a HPT and good fertility signs and even more than that. Sorry AF showed her nasty head. That can be sooo disappointing, but also gives you a new opportunity. Hang tough girl it will happen. Lots of babydust to you!!
Krissy - looks like Toothfairy answered all your questions regarding the testing you are doing. Your numbers sound really good. Will you be starting your injectables this month or next cycle. You must be so excited. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Good luck and baby dust to you.
As for me - I am on like cd38 which is very long for me - they are usually 25 day cycles. My temps have been all over the place, but 5 days ago I finally saw a definate thermal shift, so I think I am 5 dpo and DH and timed the BDing pretty good. So now I am in the 2ww. I am not getting my hopes up, I am just hopeful that I can start my injectables in the next cycle. Good luck this month ladies and take care. Terri

gowingstjc - Keeping my fingers cross and good luck to you this cycle.
Hey ladies here is my update. The dr appointment didn't go good and I am sad and down and depress. I went and he said that for a woman my age (40) he like for the numbers to be below 8 but mines is 8.4 so what the heck. Anyway he wants me to skip the IUI and do the IVF well you know that counts me out because I don't have that type of insurance coverage and I don't have 10,000 plus laying around. Here is the break down if I do the IUI. DH part will cost $380.00 Lab work for him will be 240.00 and SA will be 140.00 that inclueds My part if I do the IVF I have to have more labs done first that is FREE because my insurance will pay that 100% just as long as I use the lab that is in my insurance group. Next I would have to have a Hysteroscopy that is $500.00and then for the traditional single cycle it will cost 10,425.00 and then the medicine I will need is going to be between 5,000 -6,000 but they did give me the IVF schedule and the type of meds they use Now id I do the IUI I would still have to have the blood work done wich is free and then I would have to have Laparoscopy/Hysteroscopy that will cost me 650.00 (this is my portion after the insurance but of course I have to pay this first and then they will bill the insurance) Anesthesia Fee 525.00 (my portion). The cost of 1 IUI will be 1805.00 but since my insurance will pay 50% the I have to pay 900.00 and this will inculde (4) Office Visit; (4) Ultrasounds; (4) Estradiol Blood Level; (1) Sperm Preparation; (1) IUI and (1) Pregnancy Test and the cost of the medicine will be around 1,500-2,000. so right about now I don't know what to do I don't want to give up but I just don't have that type of money. I hope everybody have a nice evening and I will talk more later. Krissy68

Hi Krissy, I am so sorry to hear about how expensive all of these options will be for you. Is you doctor going to insist on an IVF only, or will he do what you would like to - the IUI. I understand your problem. My husband and I have also decided against the IVF because of the costs involved and the low chance success for someone my age. Please talk to your Dr. because he should allow you to do the IUI if that is the route you want to go. As you know, I am almost 45 and my doctor is leaving the options up to us. If your Dr. is not going to give you the options, please get a second opinion. Lots of Doctors are against "older" ladies having children and aren't as helpful as they should be. I hope you get some good news soon. Take care sweetie, you are in my prayers.
Toothfairy - I hope you are feeling better and your visit with your best friend was exactly what you needed.
Good luck this month, Terri

Hi Terri, I had left a real long reply but my computer started acting crazy. After I had a good cry for 2 days I called the RE office yesterday and talk to the financial consultant and told her that I will not be doing a IVF because I can't afford it so I am not going to lie and say I will try and get the money. I told her I would like to do the IUI because at least the insurance will pay 50% but I first I have to have a laparoscopy with a hysteroscopy and that will be $650 and I have to pay for the anesthesia that will be $525 this is my co pay for both. I asked her could I send in payments until I have all the money to pay for this and she said yes as soon as she get the money she will set me up a tracking chart and she was going to do my referal to the insurance but I was just thinking when I called my family dr and the gyn dr and asked them to do the procedure they both said they didn't do this and I would have to go to a speacilist well isn't that what I am doing so I am hoping that she can word it a certain way and the insurance will pay for it 100% say a prayer and I will keep you posted. Hi Terri, I have good news. The RE office just emailed me and my insurance will be paying for my surgery 100%. I am so very happy. I just couldn't believe it. She told me to call them on the first day of my AF so they can get me scheduled. I can only have the surgery done between cd 6-12. I should be getting AF between March 20-22, I will keep you updated. How are you doing? Take care and have a very nice weekend. Krissy68

Hi Terri, How are you doing? I just wanted to give you an update I thought I had good news but I guess it was a misunderstanding on my part the insurance is not paying for my surgery they are only paying 50% so that will still leave me paying my co pay of $1,175.00 I am so down in the dumps. I have sent money in already but I still have to come up with $750 so I guess I will not be having the surgery for a few months now. I am still waiting on them to call me back to see if they still want me to call when I start AF. I guess I could get lucky and I get a BFP this weekend. I just wanted to let you know so if you could please say a prayer for me. Take care and I will talk to you soon. Krissy68

Krissy68 and gowingstjc- Sorry I haven't been on. I decided to give up ttc for lent. I know it sounds crazy but I guess a break won't be so bad. I'm still taking herbs but not actively ttc ( no temps, no checking cm, no opks).
Krissy- Sorry to hear about the expensive procedures. It costs so much money for this stuff. All we want is to have a baby. They know that and they hike the price up! Maybe you'll be able to save up sooner than later. I'll be praying for you.
gowingstjc- Hope all is well. So your not doing ivf. Are you doing iui? Good luck if you are. Thank you for wishing me well. My little trip to see my BFF was great.
Keep me posted ladies- Tammy

Hey Girls, Hope all has been well with you both.
Krissy - That must have been such a letdown to find out that you have to pay half. You will be able to do it before you know it. Time flies. My prayers are with you to hit the lottery or something.
Tammy - glad to hear you are taking it easy. A break will probably be good for you. You never know, since you are not paying attention and are relaxed, this could be the month you get BFP.
Here is my update: I started my injectables about a week ago. I have been getting bloodwork and ultrasounds every other day. So far I have one follicle at 15.5mm so nothing really great, but at least I have one. They will wait until it gets to 18 - 20 mm and then I will take a shot to make me ovulate. We are trying it naturally this month. Maybe next month we will try IUI. Better chances with that. They suggested we only bd every other day, poor DH, he is not liking that.
Well take care ladies, and baby dust to all. Terri

Hey ladies!!! I had a fsh test done on Fri. Its the lowest its ever been-- 9.7!!! Its actually under 10. My dr was so happy. He said to keep trying and we'll get another day 3 test done next month. So I guess I'll be trying after all this month.
gowingstjc- How's your injectables going? I hope they aren't driving you mad like they did me. Have your follies gotten bigger? I hope so. Good luck.
Krissy68- How's everything going? Any good news with your insurance? Just praying for a miracle for you. Did you get a refund on your taxes? We ended up having to pay this year so things are pretty tight. Did you get af? I'm on cd 6. My period was very heavy this month. I guess its better than no period at all. Well try to stay optimistic.
Keep me posted ladies!! Baby dust!!- Tammy

Toothfairy - That is wonderful news. Are you doing any kind of medicine (clomid?) or injectables this month? I am very happy for you. Fingers are crossed. I did the injectables and the doctor had me taking them twice a day for about 12 days. I was totally getting sick of them. I had to have DH give them to me because I am a chicken. I had one good follicle on the right side which is my open tube and one good follicle on my left which is the blocked side. I ovulated a week ago Monday and yesterday they tested me for my progesterone and it came back at 11.1 which is good. They want it above 10. So I don't need to supplement that. I go in for a pregnancy test next Monday. I really don't feel prego, but not sure if you do this early. I am hoping and praying hard. I am very excited because all of my hormone testing comes back that I am still fertile. So I am hoping the issue is enough follicles. We will see in a week.
Krissy - I hope all is going well for you. Let us know how things are this month.
Take care ladies and lots of babydust to you. Terri

tooth fairy - How are you doing? This is wonderful news and I am so very happy for you. No good news for me I still have to pay $1,175.00 to have the surgery done unless something really change. I was rushed to the hospital on March 20 because my family doctor thought my appendixs had ruptured but it turned out that I have more fibroids and half of them are the size of plums and also my blood iron was real low like a 7.5 they had me on some major pain medicine they had admited me to the hospital but they were talking about doing a blood transfusion and a hystercomy after I heard that I checked myself out of the hospital I might have been high on the drugs but not that high I told the ER doctor I needed some time to think and clear my head so he found me a new gyn doctor. I started AF just like clock work on March 21 and I had decided since I have being having all these problems that I wasn't doing anything this cycle I am not even taking my temp and to be honest I really don't even know what cd i am on. I did go and see the new gyn on March 23 and she told me that we would take baby steps and she would get down to the bottom of what is going on with my body but she did tell be that black women are more prone to have fibriods so I guess that is what category I fall into. On April 9 I will be having a endometriss biospy and see what that show and move onto the next step but I think I am goin to see if she can do the surgery I need to have done because she is a ob/gyn and family doctor. I then get a call from the RE nurse telling me all about the blood work I had done well I have to have another blood test done because my HTLV is adnormal and she said this could be a indication that I have leukemia and I also tested postive to the anitbodies that cause m/c so she said when I get pg they will treat me high risk. I guess that is about it for me.
gowingstjc - How are you doing? Keeping my fingers cross and saying a prayer that you will be letting us know on Monday that you are pregnant. As for me I am just taking it each day and waiting until next thursday so I can have the procedure done. I just hope they get the test results back ASAP. I guess you can say I have officially taken this month off I don't even know what cd I am on. I am only a__suming I will start AF on April 21. I will keep you all updated. Love you girls and I will talk to you later. Krissy

Hey ladies!! Been doing some spring cleaning and trying to go green and recycle. It hasn't been easy but I like getting rid of the stuff for a good cause. And you get a discount on your water bill if you do it so every penny counts! My son is trying to help too, so its cute to watch him go!
gowingstjc- Thanks for the support. I'm not doing any injectables yet. My gyn wants me to see the re again but I just don't want to do injectables. I'm a chicken like you when it comes to needles and those drugs drove me crazy a year ago. Hope yours aren't too bad. Good luck on Monday with your pg test. I will be praying for a BFP for you!
Krissy68- Oh my goodness are you ok? I would have made a beeline to the door if I heard hysterectomy too!! Why would they jump to such a drastic conclusion? I'm glad you got a second opinion. I have fibroids too. My dr said they aren't big enough to prevent getting pg but sometimes I wonder. It may not be a bad idea to wait for a month to try again. I hope all your test come back ok. Don't give up faith. You know you can count on us here to chat with you when you get down. You ladies have been a lifeline at times when I couldn't count on anyone else. So please just keep praying and you know I'll keep praying for you.
Keep me posted. Baby dust--Tammy
