good luck on getting someone to answer you ....I have left 2 messages on 2 different topics about a tubal reversal without any response....I was 35 y/o this past May when my son Josh was born and me and DH decided to have tubal so we wouldnt have to worry about birth control but in August our baby boy died of SIDS and I have an appt in March to see about a reversal ....I just wanted to talk to someone that had went though it and could give me some insight to it.......best of luck to you what ever you decide

After 2 ectopic pgs (9 months apart) in which both my tubes ruptured, I essentially had a tubal. My OB said we had something like a 1 in 5,000 chance of conceiving on our own and that it would most likely end ectopic again. He referred us to a fantastic fertility center, and it took 3 rounds of IVF to have a successful pg (got pg first 2x, but m/c at 8w and then 6w). I am now 31w pg w/ our DS. IVF has tremendous success these days. Good luck to you!!!

It won't let me answer!

Yes it works! I was 39 when I had reversal done. 24 when "tied". My daughter is 1 now and I am pregnant with post-reversal #2. #5 all-together. I had only 1 tube after reversal due to damage when "tied" and risk of ectopic. Tube left was 5 1/2 cm which is not long at all. I saw Dr. Levin in Louisville, Ky.

punkin01-Nice to see you around again! How are you holding up?? I still think of you and of Josh constantly. My ds was born only a few weeks after Josh and they look so much alike I can't help but think of him often and how much you must miss him. Just know that many of us still think about and pray for you. Let us know of the reversal goes, we would all love to hear some good news from you!!

MNMOM I sure will keep you guys updated on how it goes....I want another one so bad. I hate to see pregnant women and babies ........I cant help it ...I know I shouldn't feel this way but I do........And another thing that hurts is all of these babies and children that are abused and killed and the mom/dad are still able to have more and usually do......but here I am with my baby taken by SIDS that we know almost nothing about........It really gets to me sometimes......sorry MNMOM I know you didn't want to hear me rant about this .........thanks for you well wishes and I will let you know

punkin-I understand and don't feel bad for ranting. I went through fertility treatments to have both my boys and it makes me sick when other moms take their children for granted and neglect them, etc. Hope you have a great appt in March!

Hi... I'm 35 and had my reversal in March, I'm now 5wks pregnant. My doc referred me to my consultant last year and I then had bloood tests done and my husband had his s____n checked and all as fine so I was able then to go ahead with the op. I was only able to have the left tube fixed as the right was so badly scarred that it had to be removed completely. I was of work for 9wks and the 1st few wks was very sore and had to take it extremely easy. I had a dye test done after my second period and they were able to tell me then that the tube was clear the dye test is a little uncomfotable. I went to see my consulatant at the beginning of September and she said there was a possibility the tube had kinked when it healed. I gave up hope and I think because I wasn't thinking about it that it happened. I'm wishing you all the luck and good wishes for you to be successful, keep tryin I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Hello, I am 40 and had a tubal ligation at 28, I was hapilly married and never imagine wanting to have more kids. I got divorce and couple of years ago got re-married with a wonderful man that loves children and don't have any of his own. I am schedule for a tubal reversal in December, I am a little nerveous. Some of the post give me hope. Any advice is welcome

yaredream--I too was 28 when my tubes were tied and i am now 41. My problem is that my insurance will not cover a reversal so i would have to pay out of pocket. Im afraid by the time I will be able to afford the reversal it will be too late for me. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

yaredream- I had my tubal reversal on August 20, 2008. The surgery is painful, the cut is like a c-section about 4 inches just above the hairline. I was off work for 2 weeks. But still in pain for a few weeks after. Didn't stop me from ttc right away though lol! We are still ttc, the doctor said everything was great when he did the surgery. If I am not preg this month I will have a dye test on my next cycle to make sure everything is open. oh by the way I just turned 40 a few weeks ago. Good luck to you!

Thamk you for all your responses. Chelssy38 I know how you feel, we don't have the money either, but my doctor works with a company that helps finance the procedure. Is a big debt we are getting into and most economic advisors will tell us we are crazy, but like you said we don't have to much time. Jesslea, thank you for letting me know about the pain, I had 2 c-sections and I am not looking forward to feel that pain, I wish I never had a tubal ligation, but my motivation now is having a baby with my husband who has never had kids. Good luck in ttc. Best wishes to all.
