Thought a new thread was in order. I know the thread seems to be on a down curve..but hopefully a fresh thread for the second half of 2010..will bring good fortune to those ttc and bfp's and the rest of us who have had loss and would like continued support. There have been many success stories here as well as many heartfelt disappoinments. If you need support this is the place to come!! Kristin

Here is my update. I am 42 and I have a 9 month old baby girl. I also have a 3 year old. I have had 5 losses in total. 3 of which were in the year prior to my successfful 2009 pregnancy. I finally got my first af on June 16th. So I guess that means I should start looking at my cycles again for regularity and such. My dh wants another baby. I am on the fence with this for several reasons..age, former losses, and uncertaintly in our relationship over the years. But I also know that I can't afford to wait if indeed another child is in order. I spoke to my gp about another child..she just told me I should start ttc asap..because of my age. She said she would give me another prescription for progesterone if I wanted it. I have to update that in the event I do ttc. Anyway, I am just finally feeling like my body is getting back to shape..and that my baby is getting easier to manage. But let me tell you two lo's at 42 is certainly ALOT of work. I have nothing to compare it to but I feel tired all the time. Anyway, speaking of being tired..I have to hit the sack now..as I am exhausted..both kids are currently sick with fevers.. Gotta run..but hoping to hear from all the great ladies here..especially Aspen. Take Care and all the best TTC!!

It is always good to hear from you Kristin. We are one our 2ww time. Can't say I have noticed anything different. I hear you about the third child. But weather your relationship stays or not, they will always be your kids. Baby dust to everyone!!!

I am 43 and TTC! I ovulated on the 3rd or 4th of July so now I wait and see and test like crazy! LOL! why do you need progesterone? I have 3 older kids, just had a tubal reversal and am now TTC. I have been to a RE for testing of FSH, estradol etc and my numbers were all very good. I am taking a multi vitamin and I took Soy Isoflavines for 5 days on day 3 of my cycle to make sure I ovulated (although I have not had a problem with it). Just curious about the progesterone and if I need some too to help out. At my age time is not on my side. Baby dust to us all!

Hi Ladies!! Nice to hear from you HelloDolly..and best fo luck with the 2 ww. Thanks for the comment about the kids remaining no matter what ;) I needed that...and you're right so true. KPck888 (that's hard to remember) welcome. and best of luck ttc!! HAve you had an hsg to check to see if your tubes are flowing properly? Just wondering after a tubal. As well. The progesterone. well it is controversial as to whether it helps sustain a pregnancy. Well for me not sure if it was an issue..but I went to see a specialist and asked her to give it to me. If you have a short luteal phase or if you have low progesterone..it can keep youre levels stay up there to help the pregnancy stick. This is the theory anyway..and for me after 3 failed pregnancies in a row (in one year) I was ready to try anything..the 4th was the only one where I took the progest. and it stuck!1 SO I am a firm believer. When taking the suppositories..you take the once you know you have ovulated..and not before..you take 2 supp two times a day or however your doc prescribes them..then you can wean off them by about 12 weeks or so.. once your body is producing progesterone enough on it's own and the placenta takes over it is no longer necessary (12 weeks). IF you have no history of loss then it is not necessary..it is kindof a last resort thing. atleast for me. I am so out of the loop with alot of my info these days everything I write is just from memory..so if you really want to get firm answers talk to your doc about it. I have a young baby and am not in the ttc mode yet. IT has been over a year and half that I have not had a af and just had my first one on June 16th and it was a doozer. We have been having random s_x but the dh is not ejaculating in me I had a 28 day cycle before so I probably ovulated on around the 30th or so. But I am not charting my cycles at all or taking bbt's I am still taking my prenatals..as I am still b___stfeeding. For the record I also fell pregnant all 4 times and was still b___stfeeding. I nursed my 3 year old until she was 2. (well mostly just at night time) so the b___stfeeding for me did not prevent pregnancy. I was also taking evening primrose oil up until ovulation..I used opk's and did my bbt's. I think possibly next cycle I msy begin to chart..just to see how my cycles are post pardom. But will not actively ttc until the baby is over a year..if I decide I want that. Anyway..hope everyone is doing great..best of luck and baby dust!! :)

I wrote a long, and somewhat witty post earlier, and now I see it didn't post. Too bad too. It's late now, and I think the wit has gone to bed already, for I can't think of anything to witty to say, so... I'll just say that I'm 42 and trying to conceive again. I've been preggers a few times when I was in my late 20's, but that was a lifetime ago. I do have one living son, but the rest are all angels. I post on the 2WW board on Signs of Pregnancy, but I'd like to post here as well. It's nice to see people my age and get their tips and advice. It's nice to talk to people who understand the near desperation we feel as the clock starts to tick down. I thought I was done wanting children, but imagine my surprise when I awoke one day wanting another baby more than I wanted to breathe! This past weekend was my sixth cycle doing A.I., and my first with a new donor. The other donor I was using had never had kids, with his spouse or with any of the ladies he was trying to help, but the new donor has had three successful pregnancies so far. Also the new donor is just up the road as compared to 2.5 hours away, so that should help as well. I hope I didn't A.I. too soon though. I had my first positive OPK on Friday, so we went ahead and met that night and also on Saturday afternoon. I usually only get two positive OPK's, and by the third day it's a negative, but today it was still positive. Today is also CD 19, the normal day for me to O. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what the temps do in the next few days. It's interesting to read the old posts from the gals here. One thing really caught my eye and that was about being overweight and the havoc it can cause. I was heavy in my twenties and it didn't seem to stop me from getting pregnant, but I did gain even more in my thirties. I've since lost around fourty pounds and am eating very healthy now, so hopefully that will help me on this journey. I'll have to ask my ob about the insulin resistance though, that's something interesting. Here's a toast (with my nice, cold gla__s of water) that all our dreams may come true!

Man I understand the desperation! I feel it and it hurts. I start testing this week (AF should be this Sunday or Monday)so please keep me in your prayers and thoughts!

HelloDolly - July 12

Good Morning Ladies, Yes, funny I thought I was done too. Then I met a wonderful man that really wanted a second child. So we are trying to have a baby. Some days I think I must be crazy to start over agian, but then I think of how great it will be this time. I am more financially secure, I am going to take a full year off of work, all the cools stuff they have now! I am really going to enjoy this. I will only have one, and I just can't wait. I loved the time I had with my other three but I got pg right after my first was born, so I was pg the whole time then had my second. so I had two girls within 13 months. It was like having twins. then when my second was two I had my son. So ever since the first one was three months old, I had something else going on besides just "baby". This time it will be all about the baby. It is nice to meet you Phoenix - good luck!! Baby dust to all!!!!

kpckd888 - July 12

How soon do you guys start testing for a BFP? What do you use?

HelloDolly - July 12

I use First Response Early Pregnancy and I usually wait till AF is due. Walmart has the best prices on them, and I think they are the most sensitive. I did one one day the same day I had a blood test and the blood test was 15 and the test was positive the same day. So they are pretty sensitive!

kpckd888 - July 12

It is so hard to wait! LOL!! Hello Dolly I was like you- had 3 kids right together starting at 18 (and not even trying). I now am with someone younger who does not have children (although I always wanted more) so I really feel pressure.

HelloDolly - July 12

I hear you. I feel the pressure too because time is running out. I really want to give him a second child. I mean, he does have one, but is not the healtist thing. He had chronic health issues. I cannot image what would happen if we lost him. MY DH would devestated! and he is such a great dad. I wish my kids had half the dad he is. So I really want to have a child for him.

kpckd888 - July 12

Hello Dolly what are you doing to TTC? You may have already said but I get lost in the posts!

HelloDolly - July 12

I did some place, but I bet I could not find it now. LOL ok, so on a vitamin regement: prenatal vit, extra folic acid, vit E, Omega 3, Fish Oil, Sun Chlorrella, and I drink Fertilitea twice a day. Then we use Pre-seed at O time. We BD starting one week before O time. We do the OPK's. And after O I use Progrestone cream till AF. I don't drink any alcohol either any more. We got pg after three months trying before. and this is our third month after m/c. The month I did conceive I used soy for days 4-8 80mg. I haven't done that again yet. I will next month if we didn't get pg this month. So that is what I do. LOL

kpckd888 - July 12

I used Soy this time so I am hoping it helped! I do the vitamin thing too. I have not used preseed. May have to try it. Where do you get the Fetilitea??

HelloDolly - July 12

I buy it online. There are few places. Amazone is one. I noticed that I had better perids, like the lining was better. I had really short and light periods before. My dr. recommended it. I think it has helped the process. Good luck on the soy. It was good for me. I just wanted to take a little healing time before trying it again. Do you want a boy or girl?? We really want a girl. My DH has a son. But any baby would be great.

kpckd888 - July 12

Hmm my periods are regular like always so I don't think that is a problem. I had been to an RE before I had the tubal reversal and had all the test run. My numbers were all very good. (FSH 4, Estradol 44, day 3 FSH 9 and lots of follicles) so I am hoping that it will happen soon. He wants a boy - I'd secretly like a girl but any would be awesome. It is nice to talk to people on here. I don't have alot of people in the real world (LOL) to talk to about this. they think I am crazy!
