What Happens After Clomid Fails

Hi mccann837 - I have been through this. How is it going? I am on shots to create more follicles, shots to prevent me from ovulating, then a shot to make me ovulate. After all that, I have to take progesterone suppositories right after I ovulate until I take my preg test, which have been bfn. It's exhausting.

Just an update. Pregnancy symptoms turned out to be begining of worst 8mths of my life! Almost none stop bleeding and cramps the whole time. Had to have a polyp removed which helped for about a month then high dosage of progesterone which finally did the trick back in feb. Was put back on clomid for 4 cycles. Absolutely nothing! No ovulation, no periods, not even an improvement in my hormone levels. Went back to my consultant a__suming that I would be put forward for shots or even drilling (my surgeon said he was happy to do it) but no, my local hospital has now informed me they don't have the facilities to monitor patients on shots and I have been referred to a specialist hospital (which on the whole is a good thing but I was mad as hell at first). Got my first appointment next week(on my 7th weddding anniversary-hopefully a good omen). Fingers crossed!

kat101 - I am so sorry things have been so bad. This process can be so frustrating. I am not sure what a specialist hospital is, but I am glad that you can go. The monitoring involved with the shots can be pretty intense, but if it works, I think it's worth it. I am on my 3rd month now, and taking 2 shots a day, so we are hopeful. The every other day dr appts do get old rather quickly, though. Good Luck and please keep us posted.

supermum I can definately relate to you. My new husband and I got married last summer after trying for 1 year we lost the baby three days before the wedding. I still cannot get over it, as its due date approaches I get more sad. I am 38 and have two boys from a previous marriage who as 13 and 9. My friends too tell me I might be too old to have a baby but its what I want. Its sad to get a BFN time and time again and sometimes I even say to my husband who wants more than anything to give me my baby that I will quit trying but I cannot. AF showed yesterday, I was very sad and now I am ready to try again! Baby dust to us!

Supermom, how are you? I hope you have not lost hope. Give me updates and lets keep each other company on this journey...
Kat101, how's the roller coaster? I can defiantely relate. Went for a hsg yesterday and it looks like one of my tubes is blocked. But on the upside I have been reading that people get pregnant right after the test so keep my fingers crossed! Baby dusts to us!!!
