18tobe- I know!! isn't it precious?!? I''m going in for an 18 week U/S tomorrow to confirm I'm having a boy....I was going to use "there goes my life" for my babies birth video if it was a girl...now I'm trying to find another one I like as much as that one for a boy...since I'm sure thats what I'll end up having...

Just an idea but maybe if you visit a Wedding Website and look at some of the ideas they have for Mother/Son dances, they may have some good suggestions. One song that I absoultely adore is by Gretch Wilson. It's on her All Jacked UP CD and is called "Holding you". This is the chorus Holding you, holds me together When holding on gets just a little too hard When this tight rope I travel begins to unravel And I feel like I'm falling apart Holding you, holds me together Good luck to all of you, I hope you find that perfect song!

I think I'll like "the day you gave me a son" by babyface the most for a baby boy...especially since he says first thing how he found out they were pregnant in Dec...which is when I found out! =) but I cant seem to find a place online where I can listen to the whole song...I can only find places that let me hear teeny clips..?

Kazaa is a free music site but you have to download it, and you should review the terms and conditions definately before you download it. www.kazaa.com

I'm making a CD right now for my expecting friend: try these great songs: SNOWBALL by Hoagy Carmichael, Paul Simon's ST. JUDY'S COMET, The Divine Comedy's CHARMED LIFE, Talking Head's STAY UP LATE, Kristen Hersh's MOMMA'S GONNA BUY, HUSH LITTLE BABY by Bobby McFerrin and ,of course, (though about a little girl) Stevie Wonder's wonderful ISN"T SHE LOVELY. You can find all of these for free on Kazaa if you're patient.

Now that baby's here, you should check out "When You Dream" by the Barenaked Ladies. It's a beautiful lullaby, very soft & slow: "With life just begun, my sleeping new son has eyes that roll back in his head They flutter and dart, he slows down his heart and pictures a world past his bed It's hard to believe As I watch you breathe Your mind drifts and weaves When you dream, what do you dream about? When you dream, what do you dream about? Do you dream about music or mathematics or planets too far for the eye? Do you dream about Jesus or quantum mechanics or angels who sing lullabies?" etc...

I realize that this is an old one, but figured that if anyone did look back or someone new was looking I would give this song that I used for my son's video. It is called "Simple Man" by Shinedown. It is kind of rock but a very good song if you listen to the lyrics.

My personal favorite is "Blackbird" by the Beatles. I have sung and played this for my kids since they were born. I also like "You are the Sunshine of My Life" by Stevie Wonder, and "Lullaby" by Billy Joel.
