Strawberry Pretzel Dessert~~~
2 C crushed pretzels (sm. Sticks)~~~
½ C sugar~~~
¾ C soft margarine~~~
1/3 C coarsely chopped pecans~~~
1 (8 oz) pkg. cream cheese, softened~~~
1 scant C sugar~~~
1 (9 oz) carton cool whip~~~
1 (6 oz) box strawberry gelatin~~~
2 C boiling water~~~
2 (10 oz each) boxes frozen strawberries~~~
Mix crushed pretzels (not too fine), ½ c sugar, margarine and pecans together. Press mixture very lightly into a greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Cool.~~~
Combine the cream cheese, 1 scant cup sugar and cool whip. Spread on top of first layer. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add frozen berries. When 75% congeales, put on top of first layer. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight. Different fruits and gelatins can be used.
