i have unprotected s_x with my childhood sweetheart recently. is there any chance that i may fall pregnant taking the following into the equation...i am 42 yrs old, single, eat relatively healthily, smoke up 10 ciggies a day, have always sufffered from noncycle periods. the intimacy took place 3 days after my period ended. ta. ....

"Childhood sweetheart" ? How is this relevant? There is a large
persentage of women who do get pregnant after 40. Suffering from noncycle
periods, considerably lowers probability of getting pregnant even in young
women. Having unprotected s_x with a person one havn't seen since
childhood is much more likely to result in getting an STD rather than
getting pregnant.

It is possible to become pregnant after forty (but try to research the menopasue history in your fam.) It doesn't matter whether or not you are single... s_x can lead to pregnancy. ESPECIALLY if it is unprotected.. Your eating habits sound good, but really have no bearing, but for gosh sakes..... even if you aren't pregnant.. STOP SMOKING.. it is soooo bad for you, but i know that you know that... if you are pregnant it is critical for you to stop smoking. The non-cycles periods might be an issue though.. but in a months time you should know. If you don't get a period in a month.. go get a test, both for pregnacy and STD's.
