Ummm - once she starts ovulating it can happen the first time she gets sperm in the vagina, but usually within three months if she is having regular unprotected sex. Since the first ovulation occurs before the first period, she can get pregnant without ever having had a period. A pre-teen having regular sex can get pregnant the first time ovulation occurs.
Egg and sperm have to get together within a day of ovulation. The fertilized egg travels to the uterus where it has to implant. Once implantation occurs, about a week before the next expected period, early pregnancy signs can begin and pregnancy is established. Doctors date the pregnancy from the first day of the last menstrual period, even though ovulation was not until two weeks later and implantation three weeks.
