I'm not really sure...I've been 1cm for like 3 weeks and my doctor told me yesterday she had two patients last friday alone who were 1cm and have already had their babies. I've seen women on here be dilated at 3cm for weeks on here as well, so I don't know if it can really be predicted? How far along are you?

Oh I hate when doctors try to guess because there is no way to tell!!! I was 50% effaced at 30 weeks and 80% and 1 cm at 36 weeks and didn't deliver until 39 weeks. My sister walked around at 4 cm and 80% effaced for 3 weeks and her doc kept saying "I will see you this weekend!!" and she kept NOT going into labor! ha! And I remember Melissa with my son everyone would say "OH I walked around like that FOREVER" and it used to bug the c___p out of me!!! So I hate to even say that stuff!!!!

I agree with the other ladies.. there is absolutely no way to tell how long it will be till labor happens. we had a june mommy at like 3cm 80% effaced at 36 weeks or something she ended up having her baby 2 weeks after her due date. I was 1cm 60% effaced at 36 weeks and ended up having my baby 3 days early... its different for everyone.

I guess it depends on how quickly your baby wants to show up. I was 3 cm and 70-80% effaced from my due date to a whole week later when they finally induced me. So I ended up being stuck at three cm for a week and had to be induced. It runs in my family though! So who knows you might just go within the week! I hope you do, don't let me be the prophet of doom here :)

I was 3cm and 80$ effaced for 6 weeks!! and had my membranes stripped 1 week early and delivered. It is different for everyone!

yeah, I was the june mommy that was 3cm and 80% effaced at 35 weeks - and was 5cm 90% at my due date - and went over 2 weeks. :) There really is no way of knowing. Just keep walking and doing squats.

I was 3 cm when I was admitted to the hospital to have my dd...90 minutes later she was born!!! 1 day shy of my due date.

I was 4 cm and 80% effaced for 3 weeks. I went into preterm labor at 26 weeks and I was on meds to stop labor. I had my son at 37 weeks. That could have been why it took me so long.

I am currently 3 centimeters dilated and 85% effaced. Last week I was 1 centimeter dilated and 50% effaced. This is my 2nd pregnancy. With my first pregnancy I walked around at 6 centimeters dilated and 95% effaced for 2 weeks and my dd was 2 days late. I had to be induced. It's such a tricky situation but just try to relax. Your baby will come when it's ready.

When you say walked around, what do you mean? Actually walking around? I have low lying placenta, so they can't check me down there until my placenta starts moving up. I really wish I could find out if and when I start dialating and becoming effaced. Do you think an ultrasound will be able to tell me that? I have that appointment next week. I am 30 weeks.
