To answer my babyboy , I think the best way to lose the weight after pregnancy is to b___stfeed. You can actually eat twice as many calories as a non b___stfeeding woman and not gain weight- hence if you eat a normal amount you will lose the excess weight. I don't know how you feel about b___stfeeding- but it also helps your uterus to contract back down to normal quicker and b___st milk won't stain your baby's clothing like formula will. Anyway, I lost all my pregnancy my weight within 4 weeks due to b___stfeeding. Good luck.

Aimee, I am concerned about your Dr. and think you are right to be concerned. Is there anyone else you can find even if they aren't as close to where you live. It's your body, your pregnancy and you deserve to feel completely confident and rea__sured by your Dr.- pregnancy can be stressful and scary enough without having to worry about your Dr. messing up.

What kind of morals do you have? You have no respect which is obvious that your parents did something wrong when they decided to have and raise you. You must be a dy&^ because I don't know any real FEMALES that have such anger and use vulgar language like that. There is obviously something really wrong with you deep inside to be lashing out on everyone. I am the type of person who just just b__w things off and laugh about it, but you are easily offended and that is dangerous. You can obviously say these things on the computer, but I seriously doubt you would say these things to these people in person. You are a coward that hides behind the internet screen, like child predators and pray on innocent people. I was browsing and happen to come across this site and your message and I would even be ashamed to put my name on those messages if I were you. You sound very phsychotic, SERIOUSLY!

I don't believe it was rude or naive. It's her body and unless your a doctor yourself how do you know that you cannot check yourself for dilation?Hummm. Any real doc's out there?

THIS IS SOMETHING I FOUND ON MIDWIFERY TODAY FORUMS.... How to check your own cervix "I think it's a good and empowering thing for a woman to check her own cervix for dilation. This is not rocket science, and you hardly need a medical degree or years of training to do it. Your v____a is a lot like your nose- other people may do harm if they put fingers or instruments up there but you have a greater sensitivity and will not do yourself any harm. Best way to do it when hugely pregnant is to sit on the toilet with one foot on the floor and one up on the seat of the toilet. Put two fingers in and go back towards your bum. The cervix in a pregnant woman feels like your lips puckered up into a kiss. On a non-pregnant woman it feels like the end of your nose. When it is dilating, one finger slips into the middle of the cervix easily (just like you could slide your finger into your mouth easily if you are puckered up for a kiss). As the dilation progresses the inside of that hole becomes more like a taught elastic band and by 5 cms dilated (5 fingerwidths) it is a perfect rubbery circle like one of those Mason jar rings that you use for canning, and about that thick. What's in the centre of that opening space is the membranes (bag of waters) that are covering the baby's head and feel like a latex balloon filled with water. If you push on them a bit you'll feel the baby's head like a hard ball (as in baseball). If the waters have released you'll feel the babe's head directly. It is time for women to take back ownership of their bodies." Gloria Lemay

Yes, it is possible to feel your cervix and yes, your partner's p___s can (and in my case, usually does) hit it.

Prepare your hands. First, clip your fingernails. You probably wouldn't hurt yourself with slightly longer nails, but shorter nails will make you feel much more comfortable for the cervical check. Once you're done trimming, wash those hands with warm soapy water before the dilation check. Step2 Sit on the toilet with your legs spread apart. Place 1 leg on a stool next to the toilet. Preferably, elevate the leg opposite your dominant hand. This way, it isn't in the way of the cervical dilation check. Step3 Lube up your index finger and middle finger of your dominant hand before your check for cervical dilation. Especially if you're nervous, this will help them slide in much easier. Step4 Slide your 2 fingers inside your v____a for your cervical check. The correct hand position is with your hand curled around like a hook toward your body. Slide in towards your bottom until you cannot go any further. This is your cervix. It should feel like puckered lips. In the center, you will be able to slide a finger in if you have any dilation.

For Each finger is 1cm
