The only reason I knew my baby had dropped is because my OB told me he could feel the baby's head at like my 37 week appt. But I know some women describe it as more pressure down there, like you literally feel like you have a cantelope between your legs. I also know the discharge kicks it up a notch. But I never really felt the intense pressure, I just noticed that it seemed my belly was hanging lower towards those last weeks. Hope this helps :)

My baby dropped recently (I'm 36w3d) and I definitely know it. I have some pressure in my pelvic area, and I keep getting these sharp pains down there. I feel almost swollen in that whole area. My daughter (now 18 months) never dropped, so this is all new to me. It's not exactly pleasant either! But I'm hoping it means this little guy will make his debut sooner rather than later! :)

Thanks... I had my 35 wk appointment with my doctor on Monday and he did an exam and said it felt like the baby was head down... so with him being able to tell that would that mean the baby has dropped? with my first son I couldn't tell because he was breach and this time we are shooting for a v____al birth.. So all this labour and stuff is new to me..
