I am 28 weeks and I have horrible miagranes!! Usally I take Imatrex but cant due to my lil guy. Well after ending up in the ER twice, my OB sent me to an nueroligist and a maternal Fetal Medicine doctor... I was advised that it is best for me to take percocet (pain pills) to releave my miagranes... she even said that taking these were safer than the excedrin I had taken a few times in desperation. I trust my doctor, but I am just curious if any of you have taken or know soomeone who has during pregnancy ?

I personally havnt taken that but I too ended up in the er for horribles migranes with this pregnancy, they perscribed me 2 diffrent pain meds to use only as needed,1 is ultram, which doesnt take the pain away just dulls it,2 fiorcet ,which works great but isnt the most comforting to take since my doc said it was a last resort med.

They give you percoset in the hospital after giving birth even if you are b___stfeeding so I would think it would be okay for the baby.

jeni23...Yeah on my first ER visit I was givin fiorcet, it helped but as soon as it would wear off I would have a bad headache. My nureogist said that she perfered the percocet over the fiorcet because the fiorcet has so much caffine in it. jessb... yeah I am thinking it is ok , I just wish I could hear from a mom who went through the same thing and had a healthy baby. Thanks ladies!!!

Hello. I was prescribed percocet a week before I found out I was pregnant. My OBGYN said that it is absolutely safe if taken according to dosage. She said that if a pregnant mother had to have surgery to have an organ removed such as her appendix, they would prescribe Percocet over any other drug because the baby is not affected. Hope this helps!
