This is probably a stupid question. I am wondering if I should have my membranes stripped this pregnancy even though with my first pregnancy (a year and a half ago) when my doctor stripped my membranes at 37 weeks (her idea) it gave me a horrible uterine infection and put me into labor that day. I ended up spending two weeks in the hospital after the birth because of it. It HURT. So, at my 34 week appointment today the same doctor told me that she would strip "the h__l out of my membranes" at 37 weeks again. She obviously forgot what happened the first time. I reminded her that I was pretty sure I didn't want another infection. She said that it was just an option. I plan on letting this kid come out by herself but she's a BIG one and you know how you just want them out after a certain point??? I feel like I'm almost at that point already!!!! Should I stick to my guns and not let her strip? Apparently it's really rare to get an infection like that, but.......
