jessica: thanks for your DH answer. I guess I will have to use DF for Darling Fiance. And I am guessing that DD stands for darling daughter not designated driver? :) I guess those days are over for now... llmommy: I want to hear about your 3D. My sister had one done for her first and he came out looking just like it!! It is crazy what they can do these days. I am excited to get mine done. And congrats about your daughter doing the potty training! You go girl! My mother always used to give my brother and I a "treat" everytime we went on the toilet. It does not have to be a big thing but we caught on right away...good luck at the doc's tomorrow! Jac: Welcome! I would not worry about the weight either. Gaining weight is inevitable and I think we just need to listen to our bodies. They will let us know what the baby needs by cravings, being full, etc. But yes, "watching" the weight is a good idea. It is just part of this beautiful process! I go back to the doctor next Tuesday and really do not want to get on the scale. I think that is why we do not have one at home :) I would probably be on it most of the time. But I think I am doing really well with my weight. I have a girl friend who is also 29 weeks and she can not see her toes. I can still see my beautiful pedicure just fine when I look down :) Which by the way, pedicures, are wonderful especially when pregnant. We gotta treat ourselves... we are making humans!! No peeing more than twice tonight ladies!!

That is great news about your DD, LL! If I might ask, when did you begin the potty training motions? My 21month old went once in her potty about a month or so ago and hasn't wanted to try since. I'm not pushing her by any means, I figure when she's ready she'll be ready, but I wonder if there are things I can do to make her more interested in trying, ya know? I figure she's still young.

MIM, you're too funny!! :) I've got to have me my pedicures. I just got one last week, in fact. I can still see my toes----if I'm leaning back a bit- ha! I think we have to do these things for ourselves to keep ourselves feeling pretty as our bodies are doing all these weird things.
Have any of you girls had a prenatal ma__sage? they are wonderful!! I had two during my last pregnancy and haven't had any with this one. WTH?? But I think I will get one when I hit 34 weeks.
3D u/s: I didn't get one with DD and we'll probably not get one with this one either. This is just me, by the way...but I'm all about the element of surprise and I didn't want any idea what the baby looked like until the doctor showed it to me on its birthday. I do think they are very cool though, esp the 4D videos.
Well off to the doctor in a few hours. I just baked some cupcakes and about to enjoy one or three. Real smart considering I'm about to get my big b___t on that scale.

The one thing I don' t like about this, is the constant hunger. Before pregnancy I wasn't a big eater, now it seems every time I turn around I'm stuffing my face with food, oh well.

jessica: cupcakes sound good -- remember you are eating for 2!! just let it happen. this is the time when there is an excuse to eat all those goodies! I was just thinking about my new face cream. I bought neutrogena healthy skin face lotion, it is oil free and makes my pregnancy skin look so much better. it does contain alpha-hydroxy acid, ocinoxate and oxybenzone. does anyone know if this is safe? from what I have read... it is... but another mother's opinion would help!! hope the doctor went well jessica. missie: enjoy eating for 2!!!

I second that Missie. I am ravenous all the time. Luckily I can't eat too much at one sitting since there just ain't enough room in the torso anymore. LOL But still, I feel like I'm constantly grazing througout the day.
MIM, thanks for having my back on teh cupcake issue. My DH is as thin as a rail, so he's helping me by consuming most of the cupcakes. BTW, doctor visit went very well, no scolding, even though I did gain 8 lbs in 4 weeks. Eek!

jessica: its okay... gaining weight is part of the process! also, to go back to your ma__sage question. yes, I had one a few weeks ago. luckily my ma__suse knew all about pre-natal ma__sages. I have been going to her for years but this was truly wonderful. I think every pregnant mother should do it at least once a month!! It is so worth it and your body will love you for it. And I hear you on the significant other being tiny. Me and my man we both skinny mini's. I was sitting on the couch next to him last night and said "I used to have a gut like yours...." and he sat up and said "I don't have a gut!" I said, "I know, I am jealous of that fact".... He a__sures me that I will go back to that tiny size shortly after the babe. I am going to work hard at it. For now, I am enjoying showing off my pregnant belly :) Here's to a wonderful day~

MIM, I think that face cream is just fine. I have even heard ProActiv is safe, but I'm sure there are websites that will scare you away from that. My skin has done pretty good this pregnancy, in fact it's been better than when I'm not PG! My hair and nails are even doing better. I remember once my DD was born, a few weeks after, my hair started falling out like crazy. I have lots to begin with, but still it was pretty weird pulling fistfuls of hair out during a shampoo.
Ok, I have a question for all you second time moms or even FTMs. Does your hospital have a policy for no photography or video during the birth? Our hospital/doctor will NOT let us take pictures of when the baby is first coming out, nor will they let my DH cut the umbilical cord due to it being a c/s. My doc told me this was because they needed to maintain a sterile surgical area and because of liability issues. We just think that is BS because why would they deny us the experience of capturing our child's birth on film just because they are worried about getting sued over something? It just seems wrong to me. Just wondering if it was just our hospital being this uptight.

Yeah sounds like they are. My hospital is totally cool with pictures and videos, as long as it isn't in the way. What good is having a picture if you can't take a picture of your baby coming out. People are so sue happy these days, ruins the fun for the rest of us.

Exactly Missie. This is also the reason I couldn't even try a VBAC due to one too many women suing over something going wrong. I wish this wasn't what the world was coming to. :( That's cool that at least you can take pics and video. I wouldn't want a pic of my hoo hoo or anything like that, even the actual surgery, just a pic of my LO's first breaths. Geez

Mmm... cupcakes. Damn it! Now I gotta go shopping and make some, ha ha! =D I've acutally been craving rice krispie treats, but the homemade kind! I'm just too lazy to make them, lol.
Lucy had the hiccups last week at my ultrasound, and she gets them every few days! I feel so bad for her! Hiccups suck! Lol...
I've gained 3 pounds in 2 weeks!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH! My midwife told me yesterday that my belly is growing more than she'd like it to... what the hell is that supposed to mean, ya know??? Um... I'm sorry? He he.
Same here with the hunger! I can't eat as much at a time, but I eat ALL DAY!
My LO lodged her foot in my ribs for the first time yesterday, while grocery shopping! I never thought it would hurt that bad!
My midwife hasn't discussed hospital policies yet... I agree Jessica! I don't want pics of the goods, lol, just the baby in her first moments in the world.
What positions are most comfortable for you ladies to sleep?? I'm havin' a rough time!!!
Take care!

Mmm..rice krispie treats are the best, but I agree...not fun to make. Too goopy. :)
Sleeping post_tions. First let me say I miss sleeping on my tummy. I try to cheat and do a quasi-belly sleep, but it's getting to where it feels too weird, so I am usually on either the right or left side with a pillow wedged between my knees and one long one I hug under my belly. Sometimes I put one on the other side under the small of my back, so I can shift to a sort of back sleeping position. Ok, I confused even myself. But yeah..that's usually how I sleep these days. My poor DH is competing with pillows.

Oh these are all the problems that I seem to find myself complaining about. Rice krispie treats!!!! I have been eating one for an afternoon snack everyday!!! That is so weird that we all want them! Sleeping ~ omg. I woke up on my back this morning and freaked out. I hate reading all that stuff about not being able to sleep on your back and the left side is best. My fiance and I had to switch the sides of bed to make this work and our poor pup who usually sleeps with us has taken to the floor. I think with my belly, there is just not enough room for her. I was a tummy sleeper as well and REALLY miss it!! Is it as bad as they say to sleep on your stomach?? Do you ladies ever worry about the baby to the point where you need to feel her move to know that everything is okay with her? That was how I felt this morning when I woke up on my back. I must have just rolled that way in my sleep. But she is moving a lot today so I guess she is good. The things we worry about!!! I just want to get this little girl to May and have her be happy and healthy!! I guess I am more nervous as this is my first one. Maybe next time around it will be a breeze. I think my fiance's alarm clock looked death in the eye this morning. I just wanted to sleep for a 1/2 hour more but that d__n thing kept me up! I think my temper has increased a bit with the baby as well :) It's Friday!! Any baby showers this weekend?

I am going to reply to my own comment and let you ladies know that I meant to say is sleeping on your BACK really as bad as they say... Not stomach, for obvious reasons. I know a little more than that!! :)

Hi everyone! Things have been quite busy here...great to see all the May mommies! :)
I hit 30 weeks yesterday. I have a question for you all.
My doc wants me to start WEEKLY biophysical profiles BPP's this in 2 weeks. That's 8 weeks of them! I'm familiar with the BPP, because with my other children, I started having them at my due date to make sure that the placenta was still doing it's job. The only reason my OB has ordered these is because of "advanced maternal age." I have zero symptoms that would warrant it for a younger woman. While this isn't an invasive test, it will require me going in each week and subjecting my lo to an ultrasound. Would you do it? I know there's no known risk of excessive ultrasounds, but....
I was thinking about having the first one, then if it all looks good telling them that I was going to wait a month for the next. What do you think?
Hope you're all having a wonderful day. I've been vacillating between being thrilled and terrified that I have only 10 weeks left. LOL :)

Hey to all of the May Mommys. I just hit 31 weeks this past Thursday. And I can't wait to get rid of the blinding back pain. This is my second pregnancy and it's a boy this time. I noticed I stick out more with this one than I did with my daughter. With her I gained almost 60 pounds and was surprised I lost it. The Secret is Karate. I highly recommend it.
As for the animals, I have two cats that act the same way. They know they are about to pushed aside for a little pink thing that makes a lot of noise and will someday pull their tails. Right now my cats are being super protective of me while I sleep, but will NOT come near me when I'm awake. They did this last time too. One night my husband got a little too close to me, and the cats clawed him to shreds. And one of them has been his cat for 13 years!!!
Well, have a nice night. If it is possible to be comfortable in your third trimester.
