Hi - I thought I would poll the group on weight gain thus far. I am 30 weeks and gained 18 pounds so far (at my 28 week appt I was at 18 lbs gained - I let the doc keep track of the weight, I refuse to step on the scale at home for fear of obsessing). And BELIEVE ME, I eat plenty and have been a real "milk guzzler" since the bfp! I actually am still wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans and I use one of those "Belly Bands" to keep them closed for comfort. I can button them closed when necessary but they are low riders so I guess that is why, they're under the big belly. Anyway, I kept procrastinating about buying pregnancy jeans and here it is 30 weeks so I thought I would just try to keep in the pre-pregnancy jeans until the end. Or sweat pants .. lol. How is everyone else holding up with the weight? Anyone know if I can expect the BIG weight gain to occur now in the last few weeks?

Sounds like the big weight gain comes around week 30 on... boohoo!! Thought I was going slide right out of this with minimal impact! I did gain like 11 pounds in the first trimester, that's when I was just STARVING and eating everything in sight!!! Now I am not really hungry, I feel full all the time but I do eat the 3 meals a day regardless. Oh well, it's all for the greater cause!

HA. Prepregnancy jeans... I can't even fit into half of my maternity pants anymore! I'm 37 weeks and have gained 36 pounds (or maybe a few more - I haven't been weighed in almost a week). My legs and b___t are definitely bigger, as are my arms. Most of my "bulk" is in my tummy though, which I think is huge! It's pretty low too, so even my maternity pants are too snug to be considered comfy now. Ugh... only a few weeks to go - hopefully! I did use those Bella bands in the beginning, and they were a lifesafer. I think I had to give them up around 20 weeks though.

I will be 33 weeks on friday and I went to the dr yesterday and I have gained 18lbs as well. Yes I still fit in my pre maternity jeans, withno belly band but only the stretchy ones...im carrying this baby so low my non stretchy ones are too uncomfortable, but i hate maternity pants so I would wear just sweat pants if i couldnt fit in them......Yea these final weeks of pregnancy are where your largest amount of weight gain will come from.

haha I wish I could still wear mine! Actually I may be able to if I was not carrying so low. She dropped around week 30 and so I am carrying very low. There's no way I could get some normal jeans on now. And I think you're right... I noticed a much greater weight gain after week 30. It's when the babies start putting on weight fast.

I find it more comfortable to wear maternity, this time I am caring very low. With my son I was carrying high! I am 27 weeks and I have gained around 11 pounds so far.

I've been packing on the pounds since about 27 weeks, 32 weeks now and have gained 34lbs, but had very slow weight gain in the beginning due to nausea until 18 weeks. This is 3rd pregnancy and I don't think I'll go over 40 lbs total. I gained 60 with first and 40 with second, but I also retain a LOT of water and lose about 20 lbs within 48 hours after birth.

I'm at 30 weeks and have gained 5 lbs. I'm still carring kind of small, but the weight in my belly is distributed like an upright watermelon, ...so no, no more pre-preg jeans for me since about a month ago.

I am 32 weeks and have gained 22 pounds as of 6/29. I packed up my prepregnancy clothes at about 16 weeks. I guess my pelvis is starting to spread a little b/c my small maternity pants are too tight across the hips. I have a couple of mediums and I am wearing those out. I just hope to be able to get back in my prepregnancy jeans within 3 months of having the baby.

I'm 33 weeks and have gained at least 25 lbs. I too try to stay off my own scale. There are 2 pairs of pants i own that are low rise and i can wear but for everything else i need maternity pants or shorts. Erinsoul only 5 lbs? Is that even possible? Well good for you even though my self esteem just plumited, LOL.

At 33 weeks I have gained 25 pounds. I still fit into some of my pre-maternity dresses, skirts and shirts, and some stretchy yoga pants and tights, but that's about it. I had a big growth spurt from around 28 weeks to 32 weeks. I haven't noticed much growth this week, so I think that things have settled down a bit ;-).

I am almost 35 weeks, my last appointment was tuesday and I had lost 3lbs so my total weight gain is 14lbs..my pre-pregnancy jeans were a size 6 and I had a 26 in waist.. there is no way I could get them around me now LoL! I have gotten away with just wearing elastic pants and baggier shirts instead of maternity clothes.
