so...as promised my birth story is as follows. I went in and got my iv and stuff put in, no big deal. I had a spinal for my pain and it was not as terrible as i feared i knew it wouldn't be bad, but it still scared me....the thougt and whatnot you know what i mean?? my hubby was super excited when the doc delivered our little girl. She was 6 lbs 4oz 19,5 inches long and she has just been the perfect little angel i expected....she is an amazing sleeper, a great b___stfeeder, and she's already got daddy wrapped around the finger lol. my b___sts are very sore as when she eats she does for just about an hour, sometimes longer, but then she doesn't wake up to eat much in between. hubby wants me to nurse until shes a month then i can put her on bottles he said. I have had painful cramps after the c section, but that was partially from the after effects and partially becuase they put me on pitocin!! that sucked, but it was to make my uterus shrink back down to size. I had her on thursday....its saturday and we came home mid morning. i am still hurting, and hubby is at work, wont get off until eleven, but when he's home he can help me out a lot. i just need rest now. we named her Layla Christine...i love it, isn't it funny how when ur gonna name your baby something u start listinin and then you hear others with the same name, other things u never heard before with that word in them...id never heard layla used outside of a song....Layla by eric clapton...buy i dunno it seemed to be everywhere after we decided on that name for her. well ladies i really need sleep i am in quite a bit of pain and hubby wnt be home for quite some time yet. hope everyone is doin ok, and hopefully all babies com e pretty quick for you ladies!! talk to you all later.

Congrats misscrotts!! Sounds like everything went well & try to rest as much as possible so you can heal faster. My mum had 3 c-sections with us kids & I remember her saying how sore she was afterwards. Layla is a beautiful name & I'm glad she is a good eater & sleeper, & don't worry b___stfeeding will get easier. How come your hubby only wants you to b/feed her for a month then change to bottles? Well as for me I am trying EVERYTHING to bring this baby on naturally but he/she is determined to stay in lol. I am now 3days over & hubby is bummed as he was convinced that today was the day. On the bright side he's happy that I keep getting him to 'make deposits' to get things happening lol. Well hopefully I too will have a birth story to share with everyone. Jeni23 is this your 1st? Are you having a boy or girl? Sorry I can't remember.

Congrats misscrotts. What a beautiful name. Get all the rest you can so you can heal good. Andrew is 3 weeks old now and doing very good. I just wish I could have nursed him. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Amanda

wow baby #4!! How old are your others? This is #3 for us & I'm starting to stress that I won't be able to handle it, mind you the same thing happened before I had my other 2 so I think it must be the hormones. I have a 3.5yr DD & a 19mth DS so I'm going to have my hands full. DS is a big mummy's boy but DD is 3 going on 13 lol, & has always wanted to help with everything, so she'll be happiest when bubs is finally here & there is more work to do lol.

Lol thats so cute,here goes from oldest to youngest,#1 DD is 10 going on 11,#2 DD is 5,#3 DS is 18 months and a huge mamas boy also,its gonna be interesting,I think the hardest time I had was trying to get everyone back into a routine once the newborn comes home,they tend to have their own schedules,and when one of my other kids gets sick and trying to take care of an infant to without getting them sick lol,but eventually it gets routine and easier.Im nervous to cus I never had any of my others so close together,it will be interesting.Hope you have a great night.

Oh and my 10 yo is a huge help to,not only self suffecent most of the time but great with her brother and sister,she is great,so im lucky lol.

misscrotts - congrats! Layla is a gorgeous name. And, she sounds like an angel. I hope everyone is doing well, and I hope everyone has their gorgeous babies soon :)

My birth story: Dominic Anthony was born on January 7th (39 weeks) weighing 9 lbs 5 oz, 21 3/4 inches long. BIG BOY! I was induced for preclampsia but everything went well. Around 8:30 am my doc brke my water and decided to wait to see if anything would happen without pitocin, By 9:30, I was still feeling nothing so they started me n a small dose. y the first increase 20 minutes later I was feelng strong painful contractions. Unfortunately the anestesioligist was in the OR so I had to wait 2 hours for my epidural, they turned off my pitocin since I was nso much pain...contracting every 2 minutes. My epidural was finally placed at around 12:30, where I was 4 cent....which quickly jumped to 7, and finally 10 by 3:15 when the pushing began. Painful hour and 10 minutes of pushing, and Dominic arrived. Not only was he large, but he had his hand up by his head which made it very difficult to push him out, but luckily I did it without a vacuum or forceps. He is slightly jaundice and had some gas and spit up problems (distended tummy) in the hospital but he is doing very well, as am I! I barely tore, needed no st_tches, and I'm not even that swollen now after justa few days. We are so happy the pregnany is over and he is finally here! COngrats to those who have had their angels and good luck to those still anxiously waiting!

Wow congrats baby2jan13!!He is a big boy,im glad it turned out good.My last baby had his hand up by his head also,I dont think I coulda pushed him out if he was any bigger than he was like that,your one strong pusher!!

well, my milk finally came in and Layla sleeps all night for me now.......hubby is getting used to being daddy all over again lol. he loves it, he has to get her dressed, and change her diapers and everything!! i have been takin it as easy as i can, but i am healing well. slowly doing more n more. my ankles and feet are the size of my thighs, i am not kidding. my whole leg is swollen, my hubby has to help me put on everything from the waist down lol but he doesn't mind. he doesnt really care when i switch her to the bottle, but he wants her to b___stfeed as long as i can, he thinks that b___st is best, but i know that i have to go back to work sometime, and so he wanted me to start weaning her and pumping more when she's a month, but right now i am pumping at least 5 oz a day, my baby doesn't eat that much, so my b___sts are swollen and its hard for her to latch on when she does want to eat, when she eats she chows, but i am producing more than she can eat in one day so i just pump a lot to keep my flow up and to be able to pump more and more so she can eat whenever she wants when we are not home and whatnot. its also nice becuase i have been freezing and getting quite a bit since my milk came in on sunday, i am quite sure that its becuase i was pumping that i have so much milk, and since she is so small she doesn't eat nearly as much as i am making, but that's ok. she had her 2 day checkup today, and i found out that when we were released from the hosp she weighed 5.12 now she weighs 5.15 and is doing ok, slightly jaundiced, but she's doin really good still. the billy test they did first said she was really jaundiced, and they did a lab, she slept thru the stick and most of the draw, but when the lady started squeezing her little ankle harder for more blood she started kicking and crying, my poor little girl, but she lived. and the lab came back significantly lower than the inital scan said so i feel better about that. well i am gonna go ahead and get off here since she is asleep i am going to get a little cleaning done before she wakes up. have a good one ladies, congrats for all new mommies, and hope that everyone that has yet to deliver does so soon!!!!!

Congrats baby2jan13 on baby Dominic!! Wow 9lb 5oz at 39wks, my last was 9lb 3oz but he was 5days late. I'm glad everything went well for you & that he is healthy. misscrotts that's great that Layla is settling in so well & I hear you about those tests, it seems so cruel the way they squeeze their little foot like that to get the blood, but I guess it needs to be done. Well I'm still here & am now 5days late. DD & DS have come down with a cold/flu so I guess it's a blessing in disguise not to have a newborn in the house. I am SOOO tired though I just want it to be over already. At least bubs has finally moved into the best position for birth (LOA) so maybe it will happen soon. Anyway it is now 4pm here in Australia & I need to get dinner organised for everyone, so I hope you all have a good night (or day) & hopefully I don't go to much longer over otherwise I'll be the last one on the January post lol.
