I've had anywhere from 5/10 to 5/20

jac1019 - May 6

I was originally given a due date of 5/20, but like KatsMeow, some wavering back and forth with earlier dates. Drinking rose leaf tea in copious amounts, eating just as much pineapple, and taking advantage of my love for eggplant parm. Had an ob. visit this morning. I am still only about 2cms. dilated, but am up to 75% effaced, his head is settled right on the other side of my v____a.... again, I could go tonight, I could go two weeks from now. I know what effacement/ thinning is, but what does ut REALLY indicate? I thought I was headed in last night after about 45 mins. of some really painful back contractions coupled with a stiffened belly... oh, and the nausea! Then it just stopped...booo! Girls, let's just keep channeling those encouraging vibes. P.s. love the facebook pics.!

Hey Jac...why rose leaf tea, instead of raspberry...does that work better? (trying not to sound desperate! ;) ) I had some powerful contractions this morning..but they halted as soon as I told someone. LOL.

BabyMakes7- I am sorry. I meant raspberry leaf tea. My brain is with baby today in my uterus.

Oh shoot.....I was hoping you knew something I didn't ;)

Girls, I say everyone go get a pedicure and let them ma__sage the heck out of your feet, and then tonight hit up your SO to do some nipple ma__sages. :) These are supposed to bring on labor! LOL...do you sense a tinge of desperation amongst us? My due date is 5/26, but will have the baby on the 20th if not earlier. Fingers crossed. Oh and have any of you tried castor oil? I think the idea is nasty, but I know it's worked for some.

Jessica72, I am willing to try anything safe, but am curious just how safe castor oil is. Any info.? From what I read, professionals have mixed emotions about it.

BabyMakes7 - May 6

My oldest was a meconium baby (of her own doing ;) ) and ever since I read that castor oil can have the same impact on the little one, namely pa__sing it's bowels, I've not been in favor of trying that, no matter how well some claim it works. I'm hungry, but my tummy's SO upset. I don't know what to do...I'd love to eat some eggplant parm....but...I'd probably be sick the rest of the day!

BabyMakes7- try some broth or whatever you would had done during your first trimester. Just try and get something into that tummy. If you go in labor soon, you'll need your energy.

I know you're right jac. I had some rice...seems to be sitting with me just fine. :) SO far anyway. I'm washing it down with the raspberry leaf tea, which really is soothing.

I still have not picked up any of this tea! I gotta get some. I heard they only sell it at health food stores which the closest one for me is about 45 minutes away... I would love to meet my daughter at any time, whenever she is ready! I hope you are all doing okay otherwise! Our time will come, sooner now rather than later!!!

I got mine at Cub Foods...if your local grocer has an organic section, check in there. You'd be surprised at the amount of teas they carry. It may be called PMS or Women's Health Support tea. Good luck! :)

Thanks for the tip! I hope to grab some tomorrow ~~

Hey ladies. The baby is finally asleep. He's been keeping me up all night and sleeping all day. His day and night is backwards. We had his first doctor's appt. today, and we were told he was perfect. I did ask about the raspberry leaf tea, and she told me that was most likely the leading cause for my early labor just stopping one day. But it works great after to tone the uterus back to normal. And a side note, that was the reason I only pushed for twenty minutes. It's kinda weird. As for buying it, I got mine at the local grocery store in the tea section. I hope everyone gets to see their babies soon. Yeah, I don't get a lot of sleep, but I would rather hold him than be pregnant and wonder who he looks like. He looks like my first born by the way, who looks like me.

I'm due for another appointment tomorrow, but they couldn't fit me in until Monday. :-( I was kinda hoping to get some news on whether I'm making any progress or not. I told my husband this morning that I don't feel like I'm anywhere close to getting this baby out. But then there was some snot on the TP when I used the bathroom, (Not anything spectacular, mind you) and I got all hopeful. We are a desperate bunch, aren't we? If I start jumping at every possible symptom, I'll go crazy long before labor ever begins! I'm not really in that big of a hurry. I guess I'm just getting a bit bored. I did my grocery shopping today, and I bought a ton of food. I kept thinking, "What if the baby comes early? I'll need a good supply of this. . . and this. . . and this. . ." Then I got home and had to carry all those bags up the stairs to my apartment. My legs and back hate me tonight!
