Jac, correction. You are to term. Just meant not yet 40 weeks. Being your first baby, I know sometimes these babies like to hang on to Mom as long as possible. My firstborn would have chilled out in there till 50 weeks, I bet! Have you discussed induction with your OB? Some won't let you go past 40wks :)

How is everyone? Any more babies? I am getting so fed up with this whole thing!!! Is it bad to think/say that??? I am just ready for the next step already!
Anyone else?
Also, my body has been very good with no stretch marks. Then today, I have two or three on each side of my stomach. They are not bad compared to what I have seen but now I see there are some on the inside of my leg next to my groin?!?!?!? Anyone else have this? I don't know how I can wear a bikini again without being soooooo uncomfortable about them!
UGH!!! Frustration has set in with this pregnancy!
I hope you are all better and have a good night ~~
I am off to dream about the sweet little thing that better get here soon!

I had my appointment today, and the doctor didn't bother checking me for dilation. :-( I know that the numbers don't really tell you much about when labor will start, but it would be nice to at least know where I'm at.
Anyway, I've had a crummy day today. I slept better than usual last night, but I was tired all day, had a headache, and felt nauseous. Everything Hubby does is getting on my nerves. I had loose stools yesterday and today. . . as if you all really wanted to know that. . . It's early for me yet. I'm only 37 and a half weeks. So I don't really think I'm close yet. Still, what else is there to do besides obsess over symptoms?

Not much going on here either. I saw the doctor yesterday, the fluid levels were up and normal, so I'm in a holding pattern until Thursday. If nothing happens until then, and all's normal at that visit, I wait.
They will admit me Sunday (presuming no progress on the cervix...still at 1cm 50% effaced) for cervix ripening, and induction to follow Monday.
I LOL at your comments llmommy.....yes, obessing over symptoms is a pa__s time for me too! :)
Anyone have a baby lately? Andrea

I am officially 39 weeks +... due next week. If one more doctor tells me, "It could happen any day now," I think I will flip out on him or her!
Yesterday I spent way too much money at the Clinique counter and did not feel at all guilty about it. Afterwards, I found myself lustfully ogling the castor oil in the drug store; I swear, you would think I was staring at Hugh Jackman. I bought the bottle, but haven't used it because I am aware that it can be very uncomfortable and know there is an extremely small chance it could affect my baby's health...
It gets tempting...
How is everyone else holding up?

Tomorrow is my due date...but yet...still in the holding pattern. 1cm 50%. I see the doctor tomorrow. I think I mentioned that I talked them into holding off on the induction until Monday. If I haven't progressed in dilating, I will go in on Sunday night..then with any luck, by Monday mid-afternoon, I will be holding my little babe.
This waiting is tough. Jac, I know you will do what you believe to be best, but please be careful. I know that MANY women use the CO with no adverse impact, but having had a meconium baby with my first, it's not something you want to mess around with (at its worst). Try to remain steadfast and patient!
(I say that while reaching for the raspberry leaf tea! LOL)
Thanks for posting, it boosts my spirits to know that I'm not alone waiting for the end! :)

Hey ladies. It's nearing the end for the rest of us. I am glad we are all in the same boat of impatience and doing this together. Hang in there!! BabyMakes, you are almost there. I know if baby doesn't come sooner, the suspense will be over by next Wednesday. I can't believe it. I am trying to take two steps back and enjoy the baby's movements and just the miracle of being able to carry this little life inside. It's most probably my DH's and my last pregnancy, so I'm a bit emotional. Make no mistake, I'm so DONE!!! but there's that small part....
Somebody mentioned stretch marks. Yeah, what's up with that? I thought I'd escaped them and then just these past few weeks, I have more and more around my navel. It looks like a sun or something. Oh, are any of you going to try wearing a girdle after your baby? It's this thing all the women in my family swear by. Supposedly helps your tummy get back to pre-preggo state quicker. I tried it for awhile with my DD, but wasn't diligent. This time, I am going to be more disciplined.

Oh me too jessica! I keept thinking that this will be it for me. Even if I wanted to try, time is against me. Starting a "second" family at this point has been a miracle, but getting another would be really something. Of course, getting dh to agree too is a huge leap! LOL. Each and every twinge of anything I'm trying to burn into my memory and enjoy.
I've never heard the girdle thing, but it makes some sense! I think I may give that a shot...can't hurt can it?
Jessica, maybe we'll go together! :) Let's hope!

Hey ladies, Long time no talk.
Life has been pretty good. Joe is actually sleeping through the night, at 12 days old. I was terrified the first night he slept all night. And he was in his cradle next to me.
The girdle thing, I have one on right now. Although it's not a girdle, it's more spandex. It helps my back. I'm so out of balance it's not funny. And it's hard to stand up straight. It really helps me there, although I'm not sure about every thing moving back into place. I just use firming lotion. It seems to be helping a lot. I'm almost back to my normal size. With the exception of my hips. I can't wait to go back to karate. I miss working out.
I hope every one has their babies soon. I'd like to say I miss being pregnant, seeing as that was my last one, but I love holding him more. And seeing his face. Keep looking forward at the finish line, it will be here soon. Get some rest ladies.

Babymakes7, that would be so cool! Is this Monday your for sure, for sure day? As long as I can get thru my daughter's birthday party Saturday, then baby can come anytime he/she wants. :)
Shea do you wear it all day? Brooke Burke advertises one called the Baboosh and she swears by it, but HELLO?? She was a skinny bi*ch to begin with, LOL. :) Anyway, I ordered this corset thing from this cuban website. The latin community is all about their "fajas" so I am going to resurrect it after this one. I hadn't thought how good it would feel on the back too. and Yay for Joe sleeping through the night already. We had that kind of firstborn, so I will consider playing the lotto if this one is that good a sleeper.

BabyMakes7... the end is in sight! So exciting...
I most likely won's use the castor oil. When I was in high school I was desperate to loose weight- even though I was totally too thin- and bought diet pills. As tempting as it was to take them, they just sat in my bedroom drawer. It's a similar situation. I bought the c.o. during a moment of weekness.
Jessica72- the more I hear about this girdle, to more I want it. How uncomfortable is it? I'll do anything safe to get my body back into a decent shape before vacation in August. I am not asking for the complete pre-pregnanct shape, but something that won't make people wince if I wear a bathing suit or bikini on the beach.

Yes, I have a date certain. If the fluid levels or BPP aren't good tomorrow, they'll induce right away, but provided no changes...I've convinced the doctor to let me get through the dance recitals on Sat! :)
I can't believe how close it is. I'm starting to feel a little panic! ;)

Dang, this is so exciting ladies!!! Andrea, best of luck on your appointment. I have one in a little while and I am hoping I don't need another NST. Baby has been squirming alot, so I hope I'm good.
Jac, the girdle can be uncomfortable depending on which style you buy. If you get the belly band, I think they are pretty much adjustable thru velcro. Some hospitals will even give you one! If you go with the post maternity girdles, then they usually recommend getting one a size smaller, so as to squeeze your tummy muscles in. Initially the one I bought felt like a boa constrictor and I could only wear it for a few hours at a time, but I worked my way up to half a day, etc. I guess the idea is to compress the muscles. Again, the ladies in my family swear by them and they all look pretty good for having x number of kids. :)
Here is the site I bought mine at: maternityshapers dot com. You can also google Brooke Burke Baboosh and her product pops up.
Hey whatever it takes to get the ol' bod back, right? :)

Hey ladies ~ good to finally hear from you all! I was getting worried that I was the last one left with my little one!
Just got back from a long walk hoping to bring on labor, but so far nothing. We had spicy sausage last night for dinner, and nothing.
I will not be trying castor oil. I have read too much bad stuff about it... I will do everthing else! I know my man likes the fact that I actually want to have s_x. I think he kmows I am just ready to have this baby! Poor guy... oh well, as long as he is getting it, that is probably all he cares about :)
I am going to look for this belly band as well. It sounds like a good way to find our old bodies!
Shea ~ congrats that little man is sleeping so much. That must be nice for you and the hubby.
I am ready to hold my little one as well. Day dreaming about what she looks like is getting old and I wish I could just look in there and make sure she was cute!
I have been having some good contractions during the night and it keeps me hopeful that the end is near. I just wanted her to wait until after my hubby's birthday (which was Monday) and then I told her anytime after that. So far, nothing.
I go back to the doctor on Friday and I am hoping that we talk progress.
I also got up to use the bathroom last night a record of 5 times!!! I don't think I have done that in a long time. I did not have a lot to drink right before bed... anyone think that may be a sign of impending labor?
Hang in there ladies! The end is very near...

Just a week left for you, Jessica, and less than that for you, Andrea! I'm starting to think that I may end up a June Mommy. :-( My cousin, who was due the same day I am, just had her baby. Lucky duck!
I was going to wait until 38 weeks to start trying anything to get this baby out, but DH and I both got bored of the wait. "Getting it on" with DH is getting difficult and less than romantic at this point, but we've been giving that a try every few days. And I've started walking. Yesterday to the library, and today we all went to the Zoo. I walked some good hills, but I don't think it did any good.
At the Zoo,there was this big bronze sculpture of a big fat hippo lounging on the ground, and it reminded me so much of how I feel these days that I couldn't help laying down next to it and having my husband snap a few pictures.
In spite of the walking and s_x, so far I've just had more frequent BH, but nothing serious.
You know what's weird? I'm sure everyone looks forward to labor with mixed feelings of excitement and nervousness, but what I'm really dreading is. . . .
the stress of getting my girls all packed and ready and dropping them off at their grandma's, on top of having to make sure I have all my stuff, too, and the correct people called and informed, etc. Is that crazy? When I think of going into labor, the thought of the labor and pain and all that is more of an afterthought. You'd think that since I so much dread the getting ready part, I might actually make more of an effort to get as much packed and planned out beforehand as I can; but I find myself stalling on that. After all, I can't just pack up half my daughters' wardrobes and leave it all in a suitcase for weeks on end! They have to wear something in the meantime. But I could certainly do more than I've done. To be honest, I've packed my own bags while in labor, every time so far. And you're supposed to have that done, at what, 35 or 36 weeks or something? I'm so bad!
Have any of you heard anything like this from your hospital? My husband called the hospital the other day, and they told him that unlike in the past, my older daughters will not be allowed to come visit their new sister in the hospital. They'll have to wait until I bring her home. And I was looking forward to that! I think my older daughter was, too. For her, the hospital holds a sort of awe and excitement. Anyway, it's because of the swine flu, apparently. They said that no one under 16 is allowed into the Ladies' Center; not even siblings. They said it might change back to normal in the next few weeks, but that we'd have to find out when the time comes. Grumble, grumble, grumble. . .
