Wow, it has been quiet here for a couple of days. I am 31 weeks. Starting to get nervous. Am I ready for this? My hubby asked me when I would like to try for our second child...lets just say I pretended I didn't hear him. I am not ready to think about it. I like being pregnant, but the last few days not so much. I have been so uncomfortable with the heat, rib pain and the fact I am starting to show the weight gain in my face. I know I will probably forget and have want one right away. Well I didn't sleep very well last night due to the heat. And now I have to get ready for work. Hope you all are doing well!

Hey girls... turning 30 weeks on Saturday. That's when the real countdown begins! Sbea, you are already there! How exciting! I'm sorry you have rib pain, that must be no fun. When are you going to go on mat leave? Dicegirl, how are you feeling?

sbea - July 28

I am not sure when I am going to go on Mat leave yet. I am going to try and get through August and then we will take it week by week in September. The guy I am working for is very flexible. Though there is a girl there that can't wait for me to go on Mat leave, as she gets my hours when I leave and she wants full time work. However the other girls don't like her so much so we will see if that even happens. They might need me to stay until the can find someone else and get them trained. Cg- are you going on Mat leave soon? Dice you are going to be 31 weeks too this week. How are you feeling? I am excited to be done this. I have 9 weeks, but could go at 7 weeks from now. We are in a heat wave so I guess I am just more uncomfortable then normal. Have a great day.

Hey girls...thank you for asking, I am feeling great! I am indeed going to be 31 weeks on Thursday, that is crazy! Even crazier for me is feeling this little guy moving so much! He doesn't kick quite as much anymore, he more moves around a lot, it feels amazing!! This morning I was laying on my right side and rolled on to my back. The middle of my belly was SO HARD and it looked like a small mountain, with a little point and everything. Then I watched as his b___t move back and forth, LOL! I love it! I am so happy it doesn't get too hot here in Vermont. I still use my air conditioners because if we didn't I don't think my husband would be alive or around me LOL! I get so hot all the time, when other people aren't also, I hate that part but I am dealing with it. I went to Babies R Us on Saturday and registered for a stroller and just a few other items. Now we are talking about asking people to make contributions to us for saving our babies cord blood instead of buying us an actual gift for the baby shower. Is anyone else doing cord blood banking? Also, our car seat came yesterday. Some advice about that. Our midwife told us that some places will not take returns on car seats if the box has been opened and to make sure the car seat is compatible with your vehicle before opening the box. Having said that...our car seat is sealed in the box and waiting for a call from the company on compatibility. It is so hard for me not to open it! It's a Britax chaporone infant carrier, and so darn cute. It is a cow pattern called cowmooflage! LOL! Also it was very expensive..$229...thankfully we didn't have to buy it, my Dad did...we got lucky! Also on Saturday my soon to be step father, and my mom came for the weekend. While my mom and I were shopping he put together the baby's crib, dresser and ba__sinet... bless his heart, it took him almost all day! The nursery is starting to come together and looking good, I love the crib. It makes it so much more real when things like that get done, I can't believe it! For some reason it feels like there is always more to do and more to think about with the pending arrival of our son. Thankfully we are taking a week and going to Maine to take time for ourselves before he gets here. My husband was going to surprise me with a get away, but then decided to tell me just in case I didn't feel like spending 5 1/2 hours in the car. It should be good though, I am looking forward to it! Now that I have written a short book here...I hope all is well with everyone else and their little ones! The one thing I have started worrying about is the birth, but I try to keep that on the back burner so to speak.

HI ladies, I hope that all is going well with you guys, I have been reading and I see that alot of you are very close less than 10 weeks from seeing your little ones. I just wanted to stop in and say hi I am 27 weeks today and I will be joining your third tri board next week. I go in for my glucose test on Monday the 3rd ( first day of 28 weeks). I hope that it turns out well. Well I look forward to talking with you ladies and hearing all about your progress. Good luck ladies and congrads. :-)

Hey Everyone, I go MIA every now and again because I just don't feel like getting on the computer after work. thought I'd check tonight, though. I'll be 31 weeks on Friday and can't believe it. We started appointments every two weeks now, and have one tomorrow. I had to take the long glucose test after I failed the short one, but I pa__sed the second one. Yay! Let's see, what else? we've done nothing on the baby's room besides emptying the closet. We have to actually move stuff from room to room across three or four rooms to get everything ready. And we have to do some construction first, which will start this weekend. Oh boy. For some reason I'm not stressed. We did decide to do cord blood banking. It's pricey, but we are able to make it work and I wouldn't forgive myself if we hadn't and something happens. Let's see, what else? I'm starting to get tired again, and wake up a little earlier in the morning. And it's a ridiculous production to change positions at night. I wake up a couple times with raging pain in my hips - whichever one I'm not sleeping on. And I LOVE it with little J moves around. His b___t (or head?) is almost perpetually lodged up under my right ribcage, and I just sit and rub it all day long. Wherever I feel a hard spot, I just rub it. OK, time to go, after this little novel. And one more thing, I'm signed up for a b___stfeeding cla__s and an infant CPR cla__s (both of us on that one), but we're not doing a birthing cla__s. Everyone we've ever talked to has said it's a waste of time. Everyone seems to take them, but then say it wasn't worth it. This should be interesting. Surprisingly, I'm not all that freaked out about the birth, even with all the shows. I just figure what happens will happen.

hello ladies...... So I guess that I am offically in the third trimester. I went in to see the doc because of some pain that I was having turns out it is my body streching nothing to worry about. I did my glucose test today and I will get my results back when I go back in. He had told me that I am going to start seeing him every 2 weeks now that I am in my third trimester.

sbea - July 29

You are all seeing your doctor every two weeks? I was there two weeks ago and he said to see him in 4 weeks and then we will move to every two weeks. I was just in the third trimester then. Oh well. I will be 33 weeks then. I can't believe that. oh the time is going so fast. Right now I have my feet in a bucket of cold water, ice water with lemon and just had some left overs. I am so tired from work. Well maybe it is the fact that I can't sleep through the night anymore. I just want 5 hours straight. I am getting excited for the other ladies to be joining us here very soon! Munch I am so glad that the pain was actually from the body doing what it needs to do and nothing serious. Well I can't think right now so I think I will take a break. Maybe I will remember my point later...oh to have my brain back.

Samara - July 30

Good morning ladies! I'm 27 weeks today, so I guess I start my 3rd tri next week. Going for the glucose test on the 3rd. Anyone else having a really easy pregnancy? I'm not trying to brag, but I'm almost waiting for something bad to happen. The only problem i've had is almost daily heartburn

munchmom04 - July 30

OHH well im in a bad place right now. I had my glucose test yesterday and the nurse called me this morning and told me that I FAILED the test. OMG I did tell her that I had a cup of chocolate milk around midnight, so I was thinking that that was the reason. But she said that I still have to come in tomorrow to have the 3 hr test done. She said that I can not have pasta, sugar, bread and anything else sweet. Also I can not eat after 10 pm. Has anyone else failed the one hour test and they can help me out and give me some words of wisdom on what to do and expect when I go in tomorrow? Thanks ladies

MNMOM - July 30

Munch - I'm a__suming you are having your test first thing in the am....absolutely do not eat or drink anything but water after 10 pm! I failed the test my last pregnancy but I pa__sed the 3 hr test. I think I failed because I had a little something early in the morning and boy I will never do that again because the 3 hr test sucked bad. Good luck!

munchmom04 - July 30

yes my test is at 8 in the morning. The office opens at 8 and I got the very first apt. I hope that it will not be that bad.

DiGiacomo - July 31

Hey ladies, Munchmom - Good luck on the glucose test. I'm sure you'll be fine. Let us know how it goes! Sbea - I dislike the roundness of my face, too. I'm not looking forward to stretch marks...:S My husband and I took last Monday off just to have a day off and ended up putting the baby room together. We bought the crib earlier this summer and because my sister had a baby already, my parents already had bought a ba__sinet so we have that. We just bought those vinyl, removable stickers to put up in the room - Thomas the Tank Engine - because we rent and I don't want to spend all this time and money painting and drawing pictures on the wall just to have to prime in a year when we move. Now that the room is mostly set up it is really starting to feel real! I'm just 27 weeks today, so I still have 13 to go, but it still really exciting. Wunder - We talked about cord blood banking, but decided against it. I'm not sure why, though. Samara - Besides the heat really bothering me and some pretty serious heartburn for about 4 weeks now, my pregnancy has been amazing. If I have a long, hard day at work, the hip I sleep on hurts the next morning, but that is rare. I keep waiting for something bad to happen, too. We took prenatal and birthing cla__ses and we loved them! The birth videos were a little hard to take. We had to take them early (because of vacation and stuff) so I don't think I was properly prepared for those. We are also signed up for the b___stfeeding cla__s and looking into dates for the CPR cla__s. Is anyone taking the car seat installation cla__ses? One more question...of everyone planning v____al births, is anyone planning to go without drugs (no epidural)? We've been preparing for as natural a birth as possible (a__suming all goes well), working on pain coping techniques and what not, so I'm just curious if anyone else is going that route. I hope everyone is getting some good sleep and rest. We don't have much longer before that doesn't happen anymore! Blessings everyone.

Samara - July 31

I'm going to have the police department install my car seat, I might just have my neighbor who's a cop do it. We start birthing cla__s on the 5th. I'm so excited! I'm planning on having a natural birth, if everything goes ok. Everyone I tell that to thinks I'm off my rocker!. I haven't started working on pain coping techniques yet, guess I better get on that

Samara - July 31

My Dr.'s office didn't say anything about not eating before my Glucose test... They said I could eat before it, but not even water after I drink that orange stuff...Hmmm. Maybe I won't eat anything sugary the night before just to be safe

sbea - July 31

hmmm. I didn't think about taking Infant CPR. I know my hubby is but that is for work. Maybe I will look into it. I have prenatal cla__s at the end of August. So here is hoping I can make it. As I will be about 36 weeks then. Yikes! We can also go to the the bank and set up an appointment to meet with the person there. Otherwise we can call the fire hall or police station to go and get a lesson as well. As for the glucose test, I ate right before I went (the first one) but I didn't have anything sugery the night before and had raisin bran in the morning and yogurt and granola before I went. I pa__sed. I am sorry that you have to do it again Munch. That sucks. Well I have to work today and hopefully not tomorrow. There is a girl we are letting go where I work so I don't know how they are going to give me the time off I was needing (tuesday) and I might be working tomorrow now. But at least I will have monday off as it is a Stat holiday. So DH and I were planning on going up to visit some friends and do some shopping in a near by city that has more options than the Walmart here. So we will see when I get to work today what I am working. It makes me nervous. I am planning a "Natural" birth. By natural I mean v____al. I am not opposed to pain medication, though I would prefer to not have an epidural. I will try anything else first. I want to be as mobile as possible. Walking is supposed to be good when you are in labour and to prevent some issues that can arise. Jacob and I are talking about our/my birth plan. So we will see in the end what happens. I have a little less than 9 weeks to think about this and that is if I go to 40 weeks. 7 weeks from now I will be term. Well I should eat some breakfast and get going on some housework as it is going to be a scorcher again today.
