mary b did you have the baby? I am SOOOO excited & jealous right now if you did :) I hope everything went smoothly for you & you were able to have a natural birth as planned. Anyway goodluck & I can hardly wait to hear the details.
As for me the contractions once again went no where so I am still IMPATIENTLY waiting. I see the midwife tomorrow so hopefully she has some encouraging news.

I had a boy!!!! I had him on January 6th! I had a bad contraction at 3pm that was then followed by dierreha. THEN i had 2 more. I the called DH to come home from work asap cause I knew it was time. He works in NYC so it would take him a long time to get home! I got to the hospital at 5:15 and was in my room at 5:30. My mom was with me at the time Thank God cause I couldn't even walk and she was calming me through contractions. My husband walked in the room at 5:45 and just then my midwife checked me. I was 7cm. Then my water broke! I got into a birthing tub at 6:10 and started pushing soon after. I had my boy at 6:27!!!! It happened SO quick! No drugs or anything! HOW ARE YOU???? i got home today (Jan 8th here) Tell me whats going on with you! I couldn't wait to write you!

Oh wow congratulations!!!! A little boy I bet you guys are thrilled. That's wonderful how quick & smooth the delivery went & I am so glad you were able to have a natural birth, yeh. How big was he? Is he taking to BF?
As for me I am now officially past my due date, it's the 9th here 12.45pm, & as I have just gotten the kids down for there nap I'm thinking of bdding with hubby to see if it will kick start something lol. On the bright side I haven't had any bad contractions for the last couple of days, so I'm hoping it is the calm before the storm.
The midwife wasn't AT ALL encouraging, only saying it can be normal for women having subsequent babies to have quite painful braxton hicks towards the end & I should be happy my body is practising SO hard. How is that meant to make me feel better, lol?
Oh I forgot to mention earlier about the after pains with subsequent labours (I'm so sorry I didn't tell you before you had him), but they can be pretty horrific. No one bothered to tell me & it wasn't until after I had DS that hubby was worried about the amount of pain I was having when my womb contracted (especially while nursing) so went to tell the midwife. She then informed us that it is normal for the after pains to get worse & more painful the more kids you have, & it can be as painful as the end contractions of labour. Great time to tell us, at least I'm prepared this time for what's to come :)
Once again congrats & I hope I can share my birth story with you soon too, & it will be great to be able to chat with someone on the infants board who has so much in common.

How are you today? I wonder if you went??? I'm so glad talk to you too, we have so much in common, it's funny. We married when I was 8 pregnant with our first too. DS is nursing like a champ!!! He is an old pro, i nursed him for 30 min rite after he was born, before he was even weighed or measured. Last nite he was up every hour nursing. Gotta change that ! I'm beat...
This after pain is no joke, they even gave me a prescription for pain. It's to just get me through 24 hours after i left the hospital...i hope they go away soon!
I really didn't think i would go before my due date..and i hope you go asap!! Let me know how you are progressing.
PS, i understand about the midwife thing. I wish they were a little more upbeat about our progression.
Also, i did eat some pineapple at 12 pm for lunch the day labor started, you may want to try it!

How funny that you got married when you were pregnant too lol. Don't worry too much about your DS feeding every hour, it sound like he's trying to bring your milk in quickly & in abundance, so he knows what he's doing :) My DS did the same thing which was HORRIBLE as far as sleep goes, but once the milk came he soon settled in to feeding every couple of hours.
It's funny you mention about the pineapple because I've been eating it everyday, but it's not helping lol. I have even been doing the acupressure points & started having s_x everyday which also hasn't helped :(
Hubby is convinced that bubs will come tomorrow (11th) because that would make it 3 days late, & as DD was 7days late, DS was 5 days late, he reckons it only makes sense that he/she will come tomorrow. Lets hope he's right.
I had LOTS of painful contractions last night, but I worked REALLY hard at the relaxation stuff & with everyone visulised my cervix opening & kept telling myself that they were power surges NOT contractions. Well even though it didn't go anywhere it must have worked, because I was able to sleep through most of the contractions & this morning I have SO much pressure & buzzing/pins'n'needles down there that I'm convinced bubs has moved deep into the pelvis. I will let you know if I go soon.
So you never told me how big he was or if you had any tearing or if the hypnobirthing worked (less pain). Sorry for all the questions I just really want to know everything lol. Anyway hope you get some much needed sleep & I hope the after pains don't last too long for you. I can't remember but I think mine were only really bad for 3 or 4 days.

Hey how are you? Ok so the pains are getting better but I still feel like i have been hit by a bus. He was 9 lbs exactly and 20 1/4 inches! I do believe the relaxation techniques worked. i however did push him out and fast! I just wanted the pain to go away and i knew that him coming out was the only was for it to go away...they say in Hypno that your supposed to breath the baby out and let him come on his own...all well and fine in theory but lets be real. I totally had an urge to push, be it mental and physical... I did breath him down to crowning however. I didn't push until he was crowing which i guess is good. I think the more you use the relaxation/hypno techniques the better you get at it...if we ever have a third, i know it will be even that much more easier...
Just repeat affirmations to yourself as much as you can. The car ride to the hospital I listened to my ipod where i downloaded the Hypnobirthing CD that has relaxation practice sessions on it. I also had very relaxing mediation music too. I would listen every nite and visualize the birth as i wanted. I stopped listening to the ipod after we got to hospital. Everything was so quick there was no time to. I got there and my husband came 15 min later. I was already 7CM and then got into the tub. 10 MIN later i was pushing...
Anyway barely any tearing. I had a very small sub-labial tear that was so small they didn't even need to st_tch it. my v____a does not really hurt at all. An hour to two after birth it really did but in all nothing like my first where I would dread having to use the toilet. I tore with DD. A bi-labial tear which required 3 st_tches.
I really kinda knew that day was the day. I got up and something told me to get some food shopping done cause I was not going to be able to soon. So after cleaning I left my DD with my Dad came home at 12. I fed her lunch and was just feeling more pressure then usual. After she went down for her nap i laid down to sleep as always and found I couldn't which was very weird. At 3pm I woke with a bad contraction...
Tell me how you are? I pray you go NOW

Hi mary b unfortunately I'm still IMPATIENTLY waiting, argh!! I suppose it's a good thing though because the kids have the flu (reason I didn't respond sooner) & I am SO tired that I don't know how I'd go in labour at the moment. Hubby's been great getting up to the kids during the night, but of course I still get woken up by their crying or coughing & if they need medicine I have to get up anyway to give it to them, because hubby is worried about giving them too much. I hope we don't get sick too, but if it happens it happens hey. I honestly didn't think I would go this far over with #3 (especially with all the pre-labour stuff), but with the kids being sick the last few days it's been a blessing in disguise.
I hope my birth goes as smoothly as yours. How funny that you had a waterbirth with your 2nd & it was a boy & he weighed 9lb. I too had DS in the tub (except my labour was 8hrs) & he weighed 9lb 3oz, but because it took so long for his head to be born I didn't have any tearing, I was amazed at that. It's bizarre how much we have in common.
Well I'm praying that DD & DS get well very soon & that bubs will come on his/her own soon, because I have an appointment on Thursday & I know they will want to book me in for an induction by next Thursday otherwise as I will be 42wks. I DREAD the thought of being induced & will refuse it until I'm 42wks, unless of course there is a problem or the baby is not coping.
Anyway I hope everything is going well with you & your new little boy & I hope I have my little one in my arms soon. I am so excited & can't wait to meet my new son or daughter it's driving me crazy.

I can't believe it! I thought for sure you went! I'm so sorry. I know your going nuts! But your rite about with the kids sick, it's good you are home cause you would not be able to concentrate on the birth with them in your mind. Husbands are great but they never know the minor details needed to care for the kids sometimes, ie, how much meds they get. Mine doesn't even know where DD socks are...lol
He would keep DD in pj's all day if I was not around. He goes back to work tomorrow...i'm getting a bit worried. I know i can do this on my own. but i hope my body can keep up. He does have another week off for paternity leave but we are saving it for the spring to go see his family in Arizona, which is across the country in the south west portion of the US. It's right above Mexico, (i'm sorry if you already knew that)
Try your best to relax, thats when they come!
I hope DD and DS feel better soon!

Don't worry you'll be fine on your own with the two of them. I know how daunting it can seem (just wait til you do the first shop with them alone) but it honestly is not as bad as you're probably imagining.
Well I am now 7days late & still no baby. I had a bloody show (very light) yesterday morning & was convinced I would have a baby by now, or at the very least be in labour, oh well :(
I saw the midwife this morning & at least she had some good news. I am 3-4cm dilated & my cervix is very soft & stretchy & baby's head is right there fully engaged. She offered to strip my membranes & I said 'go for it' (really don't want to be induced) & when she started she was surprised that they were pretty much already separated & said that she was surprised I was not already in labour. Anyway just in case things don't happen they have booked me in for an induction next Wednesday & she said all they will need to do is break my waters because my body obviously seems ready.
I was surprised that the membrane didn't hurt, but apparently that's because she didn't have to force anything to do it. I don't know if her poking around down there did anything but I am already starting to get some pretty strong braxton hicks (hopefully real contractions).
On the bright side of bubs not being here yet is that it has given the kids a few days to get a bit better, which they seem to be. Anyway hopefully I will have a birth story to share with you VERY soon.
How are you by the way? Is DS settling in ok? How is the b___stfeeding going? How is DD coping with a new baby in the house?

We are good. He is falling asleep after one b___st though and then not burping. Then 4 times in 3 days he has thrown up after nursing, it's like he has a big burp and then throws everything up! And all over me! I read some stuff, i wonder if i should cut out cows milk? We have no allergies in the family but they say that it is common in nursing babies...
ANYWAY, i bet you went into labor! Your last post was on the 14th, and today is the 17th (sorry i haven't checked sooner!) I hope it all goes well and you are holding your little one in your arms!!!
DD is good, i miss my DH though, i hav been crying when he leaves for work, he is gone over 12 hours a day. Commute to NYC is horrific from where we are but we are moving closer to the city soon.
I can't wait to hear your birth story! Good luck to you! Write when you can, NO RUSH!

Hi just a quick post to let you know that I finally had my baby (a boy) on Jan 16th. His name is Mitchell Rene` he was 7lb 12oz & is very healthy & b___stfeeding feeding great. The labour & delivery was VERY easy & MUCH quicker then expected & it ended up being a home birth. He was perfect but I on the other hand had some major complications afterwards & lost over 2 litres of blood (sorry if you don't know metric). DD & DS adore him although DS only being 19mths is a little hard. I'm doing ok & am now home & when I have a bit more energy will post the entire birth story.
Sorry to hear you're so sad, I hope its nothing more then the baby blues.

Girl i'm soo happy for you!!! A boy! Now we have way too much in common. I hope you are ok now with all that blood loss, thats IS a lot! I can't wait to hear your birth story! Hey if you want you can email me or we can just keep posting on this site. This way I can send you pix and stuff. Sorry i have not check here in so long. I got a b___st infection, our one car died (husband uses it everyday for work) and my poor little brother broke his arm snowboarding, and my mom hurt her back. So I have been taking care of everyone!! I am feeling much better. I guess i just had to adjust to life with 2 kids.
SO A HOME BIRTH!!! wow thats great! I would have loved to have done that but, I must admit, I do like being taken care of a bit at the hospital. The idea that people bring you food and stuff sounds great to me. HAHAHA. So glad to hear about DS! Can't wait to hear details! Again feel free to email if it's easier. If not we'll just keep talking on this. CONGRATS!!!!
ps, i tried to put my email addy on here but it would not let me...weird.

Hi sorry I been mia for a bit, & don't worry we are VERY lucky we don't live in the state with the bad fires. I feel for those families & I can't even watch the news without crying as the death toll rises & just thinking about the babies & kids that have died in the fires is really getting to me at the moment (bloody hormones aren't helping).
How r u doing? How did u try to send your email? U might need to leave spaces. I think it would be great to email each other personally so we can send photos. Oh & the home birth was NOT planned lol. Everything just progressed so quick that we didn't really have a choice. The doctors said that I would have still haemorrhaged even in hospital as my body didn't respond much to the medications once I was at hospital. Despite all the complications that happened afterwards I am really glad I got to experience a home birth, & it was the easiest labour & birth out of the 3 of them.
Oh & I'm doing much better thanks. My iron level are picking up & I feel like I've got more energy. I'm still not allowed to pick up anything heavier then DS2 for a couple of weeks just in case, & as much as I appreciate all the help I'm starting to get sick of everyone bossing me around telling me what I CAN'T do, arrgh! I know I gave everyone a scare by loosing so much blood, but the novelty of being wrapped in cotton wool is starting to wear thin lol.
Anyway gotta go, & let me know if u have better luck posting your email leaving spaces.
