Good morning Ladies. DeniseB, I am sorry to hear you are feeling down. I have days like that for sure. Last night though, I bought a body pillow and it is so big for the bed we share with our dogs...not sure if it will work or not. Anyway, in the middle of the night I woke up with an excruciating pain in my calf, ended up being a bad cramp. It hurt so bad, I don't think I have ever had one of those before....needless to say, I woke up wincing and yelling in pain, my husband woke up and was freaking out cause he thought it was something to do with the baby! I felt so horrible that I woke him up, but he was so wonderful and rubbed the knot out of my calf. I have apologized for waking him up, but I feel terrible about it!!! Has anyone else had this happen?

deniseb - December 19

Hey Courtney, yes I have had the cramps a few times in the past month or so. Charlie Horse and they hurt like hell. Best way to relieve it is to push your toes towards you so the calf stretches out. They say it's lack of Iron (or is it Calcium?) can't remember. Hopefully your body pillow will work out tonight. It's gedtting difficult to find a good position to sleep in. It's natures way of preparing us to cope with less sleep and get up through the night. Let me tell you having done it once with my ds you can never prepare for the sleepless nights. That's the one thing I am worried about already as I cannot function properly without at least 7. I can say Bye Bye to that.

Hi ladies! I'm 25 1/2 weeks now (so still in the 2nd tri) but thought I'd join you a little early. :) I'm due the 31st. Courtney, I get those cramps too. They're awful!! I got them a lot with my daughter. I've gotten a couple so far, but not full-b__wn. Since I've been awake so much at night (this little one is SO active he just won't let me sleep), I've caught them before they got too bad. Denise, here's hoping you have a great little sleeper so you can get your 7 hours within a few weeks of his birth! :) I'm praying for the same at my house!!

Just wanted to say good morning, and see how everyone's holiday went! I am ready for my baby shower!!! Right now they are scheduled for the first and second weekends in Feb, so I cannot wait!!! I am feeling great though, little pressure in my back, but nothing too intolerable....how is everyone else doing?

katie37 - December 29

Hi Courtney, I'm feeling very uncomfortable these days. Baby is all in the front and my ribs are resting on my internal organs. I don't know how much longer I am going to be able to sit at work for 8 hours. I wish my job was not all sedentary work. Other than that, I'm feeling fine. I have 2 baby showers in January so I'm getting excited.

LauraRey - December 29

I'm 27 weeks and everything seems to be going fine. I'm due for my glucose test on the 9th of January. I'm finding it more challenging to get comfy at night now and my hands tend to fall asleep at night. However, this coming weekend we're going out to buy nursery furniture. It now seems much more real that we are having a baby!

CourtneyHope - December 31

So I went to the hospital yesterday for 'signs of pre-term labor'! Everything is fine today, but I had really bad cramps yesterday, so my doc sent me to labor and delivery. They hooked Penny and I up to a machine that measured her heartbeat and my teeny contractions. It ended up that my intestines were moving with her growing, and that I was a little dehydrated. Very scary though!!! Other than that, I have been getting mad heart burn!!! I can eat anything, or drink water, and I will get heart burn. It is pretty annoying...they say if you get it often enough then your baby will be born with a head full of hair...we will see about that!!! How is everyone else doing?!?! Got big plans for New Years?

comommy - December 31

Well, my dr just called, I officially have preeclampsia. It's hard to believe that I fought so hard ttc to get pregnant, to do ivf, to stay pregnant with the hemorrhage I had at 14 wks, and now have to fight each day to stay pregnant, at least for a minimum of another 3-4 weeks, I am 31 wks 1 day today. BP's are hovering 140/90 resting, shooting up to 150's over 100 if I get up to do anything. I go in to OB 1/wk for visit, have weekly blood work and 24 hr urine tests (Mon the amt of protein I was leaking into urine was doubled, from the week prior), and to the hosp twice a week for stress tests to see if babies are still doing ok. I try not to worry, stress won't help at all, we could use your prayers again though. Preeclampsia can be life threatening for me and the babies both...hopefully we can all just hang in there for another couple precious weeks. Doubtful I'll get to go to feb 10, c-sect date at 37 wks, but maybe?...

Comommy, sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. I will keep you in my prayers. It sounds like your docs are watching you carefully so that's good. Don't get yourself stressed out, those babies will be fine. Just take it easy and stay positive. You got this far, you can go that one step further. Courtney, so glad everything was fine that must have been scary. I had similar cramps last Saturday and I got very nervous. I took it easy and drank lots of water and it seemed to do the trick. I think I was a bit dehydrated also. I had my 30 week appoint. yesterday and babe was head down. Doc said everything looked good. I brought my 6 yr old son and he let him put the doppler on me and do the ultrasound, it was really cute. Wishing everyone a Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

JessC531 - January 1

Happy New Year! Comommy, so sorry you're having to deal with this. You're already 31 weeks though, so you're almost in the clear. I'll keep you in my thoughts. Courtney, your ordeal sounds scary. I'm glad you're both ok though. Denise, how did your son like the doppler? I bet he thought it was the coolest thing ever. :) Well, I'm 27 weeks now and feeling very huge and very uncomfortable. This baby is VERY active - I swear he never stops moving. And his favorite place to kick, repeatedly, is my bladder. Oh the joy. :) I hope you all had a great night last night! Ttys.

deniseb - January 1

Hey Jess, my son was kind of scared doing it as he was unsure of what was going on. Then my doc asked him if he would help him deliver and he responded NO!!!! I don't want to see yucky stuff, I'll come back when the baby is clean LOL. I am starting to get a little uncomfortable also, I feel like the baby is pushing up under my rib cage when I sit down. I keep trying to stretch my body out so it does not feel so cramped.

CourtneyHope - January 2

*comommy-so sorry to hear that you are having problems....I will keep you in my thoughts as you work through everything. Thank you everyone for your support. It was a really scary ordeal. Everything has been fine since then, just trying to drink lots more water. Last night I put on cla__sical baby on our tv, and with my belly exposed, you could see Penny moving from side to side, it was so amazing!! I hope everyone had a safe new years, and hope everyone is feeling well!

Wow, a lot has been going on on this board. Courtney, I'm so glad you didn't go into pre-term labor. How scary! I'm 31w1d and starting to get pretty uncomfy, particularly at night or if I stand too much throughout the day. We started putting Payslie's nursery together this week. What a project that has been. I had an u/s on Monday and she looks very healthy...a little on the pet_te side, but my first was 6lb 3 oz at 40 weeks, so I may just grow small babies. :) They estimate she's about 3lbs 1 oz right now. She is breech though (so was my first), so it looks like I'm not going to get my VBAC. I'm really OK with it though because my doc is scheduling my c-section at 38 weeks. I can't deny the fact that there is some anxiety because of my stillbirth at 40 weeks and I am just wanting her to cook and get out of there. I start my non stress tests on Monday....going twice a week starting the 12 and having weekly checks of the amount of my amniotic fluid. I've also got another growth scan on the 26th. So much going on...it's hard to believe I"ve only got about 7 weeks more to go!

deniseb - January 2

Katie, it sounds like your doctors are on the ball. I am sure you are very anxious right now, but having them check you out twice a week is a big relief. I can't believe how fast our pregnancies have gone by, just a few weeks left for all of us. I will miss being pregnant, when my ds was born 7 yrs ago I had some pretty bad postpartum depression, I just hope this time around I am okay. I have also started working on the nursery, still have a lot to do though.

CourtneyHope - January 3

Good Morning Ladies! We went to the dr yesterday and everything is looking fine! I gained 9 pounds in the last four weeks....d__n holidays, but I am still not back up to my pre-pregnancy weight yet, so that is what is keeping my sanity!! Now that I am 29 weeks, I have to go every two weeks to the dr, so that will be interesting!! We have most of Penny's room finished. We have the crib and the bedding set up, and we got the changing table delivered last night. For the walls we left them white. My mom made the letters of Penny's name that we hung up, and she gave her a few 'my little ponnies' for christmas, so we put those on the wall on a shelf. It is so exciting to get everything together!!! I can't wait for my showers though, then we should get everything else we need and I can relax! I am so worried that we aren't going to get something major, or we won't get the things we really need, but that is just me preparing 'the nest' for our little one! My showers are on the 1st and 7th of Feb...I have family out of town, so we are traveling for the second one. Has anyone had theirs yet? Did you get everything that you needed? What were the things you were hoping to get but didn't? Just curious!!
