WHERE ARE THE MARCH 09 MOMMIES

Good Morning Ladies! We went to the dr yesterday and everything is looking fine! I gained 9 pounds in the last four weeks....d__n holidays, but I am still not back up to my pre-pregnancy weight yet, so that is what is keeping my sanity!! Now that I am 29 weeks, I have to go every two weeks to the dr, so that will be interesting!! We have most of Penny's room finished. We have the crib and the bedding set up, and we got the changing table delivered last night. For the walls we left them white. My mom made the letters of Penny's name that we hung up, and she gave her a few 'my little ponnies' for christmas, so we put those on the wall on a shelf. It is so exciting to get everything together!!! I can't wait for my showers though, then we should get everything else we need and I can relax! I am so worried that we aren't going to get something major, or we won't get the things we really need, but that is just me preparing 'the nest' for our little one! My showers are on the 1st and 7th of Feb...I have family out of town, so we are traveling for the second one. Has anyone had theirs yet? Did you get everything that you needed? What were the things you were hoping to get but didn't? Just curious!!

Courtney, if you're like me, you will most likely get A LOT of stuff at your showers. I am not having a shower for this baby because I got a TON of stuff for my first baby. After we lost her, we decided to keep everything and I'm glad we did, especially since we are having another girl. We took everything out of storage this past week and I honestly forgot how much I got. It's crazy! I still have a registry for this baby though because there are still some things that I surprisingly don't have...like a diaper changing pad, a b___st pump, bottle sterilizers. But on the whole, I've got pretty much everything I need.

Katie, just wondering how your NT visits are going? is everything looking good?

CodyKatie5 - January 6

I had my first non-stress test yesterday (1/5). She did great. I start going Mondays and Thursdays starting next week. My perinatologist also wants an AFI (amniotic fluid index) done once a week after 34 weeks to make sure my fluid levels are good. All of this monitoring means that I drive to the hospital which is an hour away twice a week, but I really don't mind it because it gives me peace of mind. It looks like I'm going to be a February mommy though. My doc is scheduling a repeat c-section around 38 weeks. Hopefully I'll know by the end of the week what my date is. :) How are you doing denise?

deniseb - January 6

Hi Katie, well it sounds like the baby is doing great and she will be in your arms safe and sound. I am so happy for you, I am sure you have been so anxious throughout. Why are they checking your amniotic levels? was there a problem with your last pregnancy? Even though you have to drive one hour it is so worth it. I am doing good, feeling more anxiety it seems. Now that the time is getting closer I am just scared I guess. After so many losses it is hard not be completely anxious, it wears you down after a while. You really can't talk about it to family and friends as they just don't understand. I am nearly done with the nursery and getting all the clothes etc. put together, it's really exciting. Take care of yourself and I hope all the other Mommies are doing great!!

Noooo we are here! Im 30 wks due the 18th of march Wow is anyone getting the DISCOMFORT feeling! Wow my ribs are killing me, and she isnt one of those calm babies, she kicks and kicks, and it hurts. Its not bad when she kind of kicks and what not, but WOW when she does those HARSH jabs it hurts.

I will be 30 weeks on Saturday, and I can't believe it!!! Time is flying by now. Penny is moving as always. More and more now do I feel her rotating though....I think she is running out of room which means I am going to get bigger soon! It is really cool to feel. Does everyone have to do the stress tests, or is that something that is only for certain pregnancies? I know this question might seem weird, but this is my first pregnancy, so I am going to ask anyway!!! How are you guys dealing with your downstairs landscaping? Are you planning on 'cleaning up' down there, do you currently do it now? Sorry if TMI, but I used to shave completely, and since I've been prego, it just hasn't happened...it is so hard to shave my legs much less the other area....what do you guys think?

deniseb - January 8

LOL Courtney, downstairs landscaping...too funny! It is difficult to mow the lawn with a belly in the way. You may just have to get your DH to do some trimming for you. I myself try and do a blind cleanup. No matter what you do it will still lucky kinda ugly and swollen with or without hair. ....I just pity the poor doctor and nurses, but at that point you won't give a hoot!!

Typo- Meant to say look instead of lucky.

Hey Denise. I know the anxious feelings. I had a breakdown today, mainly because I'm still trying to decide when to schedule my repeat c-section. I'm leaning towards 39 weeks as I think it's healthier for her, gives me a better chance at a VBAC, and my doc wants to do an amnio if I decide to do it at 38 weeks, so I don't know. My perinatologist has them check my fluid levels as just another precaution. She says that it's hard to say whether that factored into my stillbirth because there's nothing mentioned about them in medical records. However, she says that the lower the amount of amniotic fluid, the easier it is for the baby to compress its cord. So we're just doing one extra thing to make sure she's OK. It makes me feel good and I get to SEE her once a week on u/s. Courtney, it's really not a routine thing to do non stress tests in a normal pregnancy. I personally have them because of my first pregnancy ending in a stillbirth. The only time they really order them in a normal pregnancy is if you go past your due date. I'm still unsure when this little girl will settle. She's been breech, but then for a few days she'll be transverse and then she'll be head down, and now back to breech. She just loves to flip around in there. :)

Katie I am sure if you do 38 or 39 weeks it will be fine, once you are being watched carefully. But I guess as you get a little closer to the date you can decide for sure. If you start to get really anxious then I would have them do it early. Your docs seem great though. I had my son at 41 weeks and had the stress tests done everyday. It scared me going over as they kept telling me to be aware of movement at all times, I really don't want to go over this time around. My son swallowed the Meconium and had trouble breathing. They had to wisk him away and have his lungs pumped and he was gone for 8 hrs. I really don't want a repeat of that. When I had my 30 week checkup last week the baby was head down, but doc said he will shift around over the next few weeks. So your little one still has lots of time to turn.

Hello Ladies, Been a long time since I went! I'm in my 31st week so in 2 month-time, Elouan should be with us. He's kicking a lot and as I suspect he's turned, I have his feet on my ribs and it's not very comfy! We are just starting to buy him gears and stuff as family and friends are in France we don't expect to get that much before birth. Apart from that everything is going well and smoothly, just can't wait to meet my son though! Elodie

Well, BP's have been good on avg about 130-140/80-90. Bed rest is boring, but doing ok. can get up to drive and get kids from school and go to dr appt. I have been doin NST 2 times a week since 29 wks, and will do that until 37 wks, (2/10/09) scheduled c-sect then. Go to dr 1 time a week and 24 hour urine and PIH blood work 1 time a week now. My uterus measures 42 weeks size, I am about 54 inches around (and I'm only 61 inches tall!), no weight gain in 6 wks, weird, but the twins seem to be growing ok. Maybe the babies are usiing the fat out of my bum for energy since I'm not gaing wt and eating like a pig! At least I won't go past the 195 mark, and thus weigh more than my DH by the time this is said and done. We thought of names, Cameron and Kierran (pronounced Keeran in Ireland? but I think Kieran (pronounced ky-ran would sound better? or there is also Keegan, can't decide which 2 of the 3 to go with. Middle names would be Elias and Linnaeus, not sure what will go w/who. The only down side to Cameron is 1. it'll be the only 1 of our almost 4 kids that can find their name on junk at the store, the boys won't have matching 1st initials like so many twins do, and 3. the boys will have different initials for labeling things etc. What do you guys think of these names-what combo do you like better? I am starting to be so snappy lately, thinking about starting zoloft per ob to ward off post partum depression, since I had it horribly w/1st 2 kids, and will likely have it double bad with these twins, esp since we aren't having another girl that I had always dreamed of having? but scared to take a "mental med" since no one really knows how it will affect the babies, what have you guys heard? 31 more days and counting at most, can't wait, but feel I'll never really be ready.

I am now 32 weeks baby is doing fine, but ive been having terrible back pains and some stomach pains, anyone else getting this?

CourtneyHope - January 12

I have been having back pain for a while...at the beginning it was in my lower back/tailbone...now it is a little higher up. I feel like my stomach can't stretch anymore, but I still have about 10 weeks left! Stretch marks are popping like they are going out of style!!! I use lotion and cocoa b___ter c___p, but I guess it is just hereditary! Sleeping sucks lately...feels like I am moving a bowling ball to roll around! We go back to the dr on Friday, and so far everything has been fine. How about pelvic pain? I have been feeling pain like my lover pelvis/vajajay are spreading...is that weird? It feels like it is growing apart like it is getting ready...maybe I am just a weirdo, but I swear that is what it feels like! Comommy, how long have you been on bedrest? I had a 24 hour bedrest and it was not too fun! I can only imagine how bored you are! How is everyone else doing with their weight? Are you happy with what you have gained?

deniseb - January 12

Hey Coutney, I am having the same pain around the Vajajay area, like the bones on either side. I have been having soreness there for about a month. I am pleased with my weight gain, think I may have gained 15lbs or so but still have 8 weeks to go. I will probably reach 25-30 by the end which is normal. Starting to get uncomfortable at night like you said.
