Elodie- I think Sean is a wonderful name! We are not using a 'typical' name for our girl either! We are calling her Penny Hope. I like it because it is different. I think that Sean is a very handsome name. Back pain is happening worse and worse everyday! I am not sure if I have felt BH, or contractions yet. I probably have, and just have no idea what it is. We go back to the dr on Friday for our next appt. I wonder if she would be able to tell us how big Penny is? How is everyone else feeling? Getting anxious? Ready for showers?

Thks CoutrneyHope - It's hard to pick a name but when it's not from your own country it's even more difficult as you don't want to make it sounds too weird even if you like the name. What is weird is that we agreed on Sean before we even planned the baby and well before we found the 1st name!!! Yes back pain are a real....pain!!!!!

Hey ladies. I'm just posting a little update. It looks like I'm going to be a February mommy. Payslie is doing well on all her NSTs and we had another ultrasound today. She has FINALLY turned head down. Up until late last week she has been breech and I was totally prepared to have another breech baby. My first was breech, but now at 34w4d, she is in good position. I don't believe she has "dropped" but that's OK. Anyways, I am going to have an amnio scheduled around the end of 37 weeks to check for lung maturity...if she's ready, it's a repeat c-section for me. Part of me is still praying that I go into labor on my own, or that the amnio puts me into labor. Ha! Anyways, we got to see her little face on 4D today. She's got my lips...Daddy's nose. More importantly though she's healthy and that's what matters most.

Elodie, we usually have the name of family members in the names of the children, as it shows respect, my brother has a very english name for his fathers grandfather and his second middle name is croation for his mother's father, and it seems to flow very nicely, and he grew into a very tall and big man so the whole name suits him well. Since we do not know if we are having a boy or a girl, we have names on the ready. There were a number of names I liked but we are going with Aurorah or Rhiannon for a girl ( i am really leaning towards Aurorah, and Gabriel for a boy. I think you need to look at all the factors that are involved in your family life when you choose a name, like where you are from and how the names are chosen for the children in the family, and then go from there. In our family my side is european ( i am second generation aussie) and the other side is Australian but with the background from England. As my last name is very Anglo it would be weird to use the European names that I have found and love, so have had to find a happy medium. My daughter's name is french Michelaine, but goes well with the middle and last names, middle names are from family members and important people in our lives, she is named after one of my sisters and her godmother. And remember parents really very rarely get it wrong when they name their children, if it feels right then it has to be. Oc73bzh, I too find my right side better for sleeping, especially as the baby seems to tuck up on my left side and cracks a fit half the time I lay on my left...lol. My sister lives nearly 1000km away so we are going to have my baby shower after I deliver, that way everyone can meet the guest of honour!! lol. I am watching these weeks get closer and closer and hope that I have enough time to have everything...lol, I am very much looking forward to it, but I can wait since I already know what is on the other side too...lol. There is anxiety as well, it has been a long time since I have gone through this, and I have limited patients, so I hope to find the patients for sleepless nights, and the constant need of having to be there for someone else, have gotten use to everyones' independence over the years I think. I am going to go see a ma__sage therapist, I found a place in town that does a pregnancy ma__sage. No one here is able to do it for me, and i think if i can get some of the knots out from having to slow down, then I just might get some relief. Hope to get an appointment next week.

elizabear- I absolutely love the name Aurorah! I think it is very original, and you do not hear it...ever...atleast in the states you don't. Do you have middle names picked out? Penny is feeling like a bowling ball in my belly lately. She is just so solid that I feel awkward!! I love it, bu it is definitely a weird feeling!

Hi ladies, hope everyone is well. Katie so glad to hear she moved into position I bet you are relieved. So you could have a Feb. baby eh? but you never know maybe you will go on your own. I am sure when they do the Amnio around 37 weeks she will be mature enough, so many women now have a c-section around 38 weeks. You have only a month left!!!!! Keep us posted with updates.

Elodie- Sean is a common name. I have a brother Shawn and a friend Sean. So, don't worry that it's old-fashioned. I'm just filling out my FMLA paperwork for the time that I miss. As a result, I'm now hoping my 3/31 expected due date is really a 4/2 due date. I can take more time off with the little guy. So the names that we're looking at are Quentin and Henry (I think... it seems to change daily). The middle name will be Dennis for my father.

Has anyone been feeling pelvic pain?!?!? For the last couple days I have been feeling some strong pain down there. Not sure if it is the joints or the muscles...just hard to move around, walking, and rolling around in bed is just somewhat excruciating!! I go to the dr Friday, so I don't wanna call and complain if I will just see her then. This again, is my first, so everything makes me nervous!!! What do you guys think?

CourtneyHope - January 31

Good Morning Ladies. I hope everyone is doing well. We went to the dr yesterday, and they are estimating Penny at 4.5 pounds!! That is so exciting!! Only 7 weeks to go as of today, we cannot wait. Tomorrow is our shower, it should be a lot of fun. My hubby is going because he is just as excited as I am, and he doesn't think it's fair that I get to open all the presents and he doesn't. So cute! We got the room finished, just waiting for the little things to put in there. If you guys need any furniture or anything, I would recommend CSNbaby.com. We bought our changing table and glider there, and they don't charge tax or shipping, and they send you coupons...such good deals too. Anywho, hope everyone has a great and relaxing weekend!!

Courtney enjoy your shower!!! mine is not till March 1st, 10 days before my dd......I probably won't make it LOL

meganmacg - February 2

Denise- I'm glad to see I'm not the only one cutting it close. I'm due 3/31 and my shower is 3/7. I'm sure you'll make it to the shower. Otherwise, it'll be an introduce baby party? :)

CourtneyHope - February 2

Hello All! The shower went great!! My hubby came which was a relief...I'm not a fan of a total room full of estrogen, so we had a blast together. We got a lot of clothes, bath stuff, etc. We had 3 people make us blankets, and they are adorable!!! The only thing I was a little disappointed about was the fact that we did not get any bottles or diapers....or anything feeding related. I am not worried about it too much though, we are traveling this weekend for the shower that my mom and sister are throwing, so I a__sume whatever we didn't get yesterday we will get this weekend. How was everyone else's weekend? Anyone do anything fun? Work on the baby's room, etc?

oc73bzh - February 2

CourtneyHope: Glad you enjoy your shower. I guess people feel a bit uncomfortable with anything feeding related as it is a very personal choice. You decide to b___stfeed your daughter and people offer you bottles, you'd be disappointed and the same works in the other way: you want to give your daughter formula and you receive a b___st-pump!!! I think feeding babies is something very intimate and people don't want to get into this. Close family as your mum and sister might, however, thought about this! We did the baby's room yesterday...it was a disaster! We bought some stickers to put on the wall but as our walls aren't smooth surface, stickers kept falling off and both DH and I got very upset... We need to find something else to make this room a bit warmer! I can't wait 42 days to go.... Hope eveything is going well for all you ladies!

CourtneyHope - February 2

oc73bzh- sorry about the stickers!!! we decided not to put stuff on our walls. we put little shelves up with stuffed animals, and that is what we consider our decorations. there are pics on my myspace page of everything if anyone would like to look. I am proud of the ideas we had for her room! What about just putting pictures up? Pics of you and DH, of the baby's ultrasounds, stuff like that, that's what my sister did in her baby's room. I agree on the feeding thing. We are b___st-feeding, but I am going to need the bottles so I can have some help!! Plus you need them eventually, so what better time than now!

oc73bzh - February 3

courtneyHope: For the stickers we manage to stick them on the room divider we bought. Our son won't get his own bedroom as 1st we can't afford it and 2nd we'll be back to France when he is 6month old so no need to spend huge amount of money in deco and furnitures... We thought about pics or posters but we haven't had a good look at the idea yet!!! I am planning to b___st-feed as well and still require some bottles as I'd like DH gets involves in the feeding part. I am glad not to be a man I'd feel so left apart during pregnancy!!! Speaking of bottles, does anyone know if there is a BPA free bottles that I can put in the freezer. I've been over the net but it seems that milk is stored in bags which is not very convenient, a bottle with a sealing cap would have been perfect...Just need to take it out and warm it up! Elodie

elizabear - February 3

Hi Ladies, glad you have all been well. I have been so busy over the last few days, I am glad it is slowing down now. Courtney, glad that you had a great baby shower and with the other one coming the ladies are probably right, family finds nothing sacred and are likely to have the bottles for you, lol. (well at least mine is that way if i dont tell my sister to cut it out she would have purchased half my baby stuff) she is excited to be the baby's godmother. Middle names yes i have those for the girl it will be Dorry May (Dorry is the short version my brother made for my sister, her name is Dorothy and she hates it, was for her grandmothers name, funny thing is grandma hated it too, some parents!!!) and the boy will be Lucian Oscar. Elodie shame about the stickers, I saw some yesterday when I was in the shop, there were under the sea ones and jungle ones, both very cute but I pa__sed for now, I am going through thinking that it might be a girl now...lol geeze not knowing is killing me with curiosity!!! Oh well not long to go. I have my next appoint on friday that ought to waste an afternoon, the doctors chat too much ends up being a 2 to 3 hour wait, not my idea of an afternoon of fun. Oh Elodie, I am not sure over in the states, but over here they usually sell near all the baby bottle stuff little caps that you can pop in the top of the bottles to stop the leaking, so I am thinking that they ought to be sold there as well, we spent half an hour looking over the shelves before we found them, and some of the bottles have them in them already. We had a long discussion about feeding and I have decided that we will bottle feed, I have had my second b___st cancer scare and they are going to have to operate, I have papillions in one of my milk ducts which has tainted the milk on one side, had the problem on the left side 2 yrs ago, they caught it just as it started to turn, so I hope this will be done in time as well. I figure that it would be best for me to heal and regain my strength as fast as possible after the birth so that I can have the operation to have it fixed as soon as possible. I am very disappointed as I was looking forward to b___stfeeding, I really enjoyed it with Laine.
