Congrats comommy on your twin boys. I'm sorry about your experiences with some of those nurses too. It's sad that you can't really take the time you need to recover for yourself because you have to babysit other medical professionals. Good thing you are in the medical business though. I am looking forward to my delivery. Hopefully my little girl will be here next Friday. C-section is scheduled for 2/20 pending amnio results say she's ready. I'll be 38 weeks the day of the amnio, so I hope she'll be ready. :)

Congrats on your twins comommy. Katie, woaw should be very excited knowing your girl will arrive soon... Got a question: Does anyone has a Beta-Strep test? I'm 36wks and still OB hasn't done it yet. I got an apt next Tues. so I'll ask her about it. Is it a routine test, like HIV at the early stage of pregangy, or is it possible not to have the test? Thks

Comommy congrats on the arrival of Cameron and Keegan, I bet they are adorable. Pity you had to go through all that headache with the nurses, lucky you are in health care and are knowledgeable in these areas. Hope it is smooth sailing from here on out, I will keep the babes in my prayers. Had my 36 week appoint. Thursday, I am dilated 1 centimeter, baby is still head down. How is everyone else doing?

We went to our 35 week appt yesterday....didn't check dilation, and I don't go back for another two weeks! I double checked to make sure she didn't want to see us next week. I think that since this is our first, she thinks we will deliver late. I hope not!!! Everything is good, doing all of her laundry today. Still sore down there, waddling, finding it harder to steady my flow when I go to the restroom! DeniseB, congrats on your 1cm, I am sure that is the beginning of something wonderful!!

Courtney: I had my apt yesterday (i just started my 37th wk) and she didn't check my cervix neither. Actually she never did so far. I had my Beta Strep test done. And we expected to get an U/S but she says "next week"! From now on we have appt every week so I hope she'll check my cervix next time as I start to feel contractions (especially at night!). So don't worry...Everything will be fine. I did Elouan's laundry last Fri...so now I'm officially waiting for him to show up! Hope everything is fine for everyone, Elodie

Hey Girls, hope everyone is well. Don't worry Courtney 1 cm is really not a big deal and is quite common. I was stuck on two with my ds for 3 weeks...so who knows what it could mean. Have my 37 week appoint. in the morning, not sure if he will check me again....probably will. Katie how are you? the big US is Friday right? you must be so excited!!! I hope this is the week for you to go, try and keep us posted.

I know...I am trying not to be so anxious, but I am so excited, and now that we have everything ready, laundry done, bottles sanitized, car seat installed, etc, I am even more ready for her to be here! We have not had the Beta Step test yet, and I am hoping that they do that, and check me at our next dr appointment which still isn't until the 26th. I have been feeling some tightening in my lower abdomen, not sure if it is contractions or not. We were at the grocery store yesterday, and almost finished when I started feeling really tight down below, I had to go and sit in the car, then they stopped after 3 minutes, then it didn't happen again. I am just afraid that my water will break and i will be peeing and not know the difference...being paranoid. I know she will come when she is ready, but I just have a feeling it is going to be in the next couple weeks. Do any of you feel that way? How are your appointments going? Is everything ready for the arrival of your little ones?

Hello Courtney, I feel some tightening in my lower abdomen, I guess they're contractions but not the really ones...They often occurs in the evening or when I'm walking. We have everything set up for his big arrival. I even washed his diapers. I don't think mine is going to be early, so don't want to think about it. I'm still 3wks and a half b4 due date so he's got plenty of time to take some weight. Well I have to say I'm dying to see his face and start the "Parents - Life at 3" chapter but it will come soon enough. I hope she will show up early as well so you won't be anxious any longer but bare in mind that pregnancy is 40 wks for a reason and there isn't that much women who delivered 2 or 3 wkes b4 due date.

oc73bzh - I agree. She needs to stay in there longer, but I am not sure I can wait 4 more weeks!!! I do want her to be healthy and plump though, so that is why I am okay with her staying in a little longer. You are doing clothe diapers? My sister uses them and loves them. We chose not too, just cause. Glad to hear you are doing well though, when is your next appointment?

Got checked out again today (37 weeks), still the same..a little softer he said, 1cm 90% effaced. Courtney, I think every woman thinks she will go early, with my ds I thought for sure I would go before and I went a week over. It doesn't matter how uncomfortable or big you get, they only come when they are ready. These next couple of weeks can get the most frustrating for Mothers, because yoy are soooooo ready to be done. I wonder if Katie's US went well, she is scheduled for her C-section tomorrow....how exciting!!

Hello Ladies, My next appt is on Tues the 24th. I'll be 3 wks away and I should get an U/S. We thought it'd be last week and we were a bit disappointed not to have it. I hoe she'll check my cervix as well as OB've never done so far. Well anyway I don't think it's getting thin or dilated anyway. This week has gone quite quickly compared to the first 2 of Feb. But still I kept looking at my calendar. I only wish he doesn't come too late as I'd like to spend a bit of time the three of us before family arrives from Frce for 1month 1/2. DH is having 10 days as "new dad's vacations" so he'd be great help. Yes, I'm going with cloth diapers as I'll have time (I can't work in the US) and being pregnant makes me go greener!!!! Everything is going as smooth as usual, well apart from that belly which is growing by the minute!

Hi Ladies, glad to see all is going well, I am with you, can't wait to see the little one, but they say patients is a virtue and mothers are full of them...lol. Had my 36 week check yesterday, bp was 140/90 so they sent me for a blood test to check my platelets for preeclampsia, as i have had some headaches and pressure headaches, the other day i had a touch of funny vision but didnt think anything of it as i get that from working in front of the computer too much sometimes in summer anyway, and my swollen feet. Doc reckons that if anything is funny in my platelets then they will put me in for observations.....tried telling him that i am not doing anything at home to cause it anyway, i mean hell how much effort does it take to sit down on your bed and sort paperwork to chuck in a cabinet or the bin! I dont think I have it, it has been very humid here, we are in Summer time, and I probably should have had a few cold showers to cool down, so have been informed by hubby to put on the bloody air con when i need it! Other than that, baby is well, good heart beat and floating around like it has nothing better to do. Glad one of us is comfortable!!! I don't believe I will be early, have only had 2 brax hicks in the last week, and I dont feel as it baby is ready or near it, has not dropped, heartburn is still my main dish after eating, and if i am lucky i can feel baby's bottom pressing out, so i give it a rub and it disappears and when i stop, the bum is pushed out again....lol...very cute! I have the clothes washed, not the bottles yet, and I am making a few sheets and throws for the pram, so will have to wash them this week once done....but i don't expect the arrival until after the due date has been and gone. I did the clothe nappy thing....yeah i am over those, doing the disposable way this time round, as I will be back and working in a few months anyway so won't have the time. Not sure if I have the stomach for the clothe ones at this stage!!...lol have had a few warm ups with my nephew, he turned 1 today, so fast...but those nappies....geeze talk about toxic!!!! So we figure we have 4 to 6 weeks before bub, and I went through the dates of the u/s that I found and I am thinking it is a boy.....will find out on the 3/3. cant wait..........I see the doc again on the 6th. apparently over here in the last 2 weeks it changed from weekly visits from 36 weeks to weekly from 38 weeks.

Hey strangers! We are going to the dr today for our 37 week check up and I hope that dr checks me. I have felt like Penny has dropped today, she feels heavier, and more solid...still moving around like the wiggle worm that she is, but it feels a little different. Still under my pre-pregnancy weight, but we will see about that when we go to the dr today. How is everyone else doing? Anyone become mommies and haven't yet told?!?!?

Hey Everyone, I'm Taylor my due date is March 7th and I am sooooooo ready for our lil girl to come out!!! I went to the doctor today and he said if I don't go into labor before Wednesday he is going to induce me. Now I have heard alot of bad n a lil good things about inducement and I would like your opinon on the topic. Thankz
