My now 16m old slept thru the nite at <2 mos...started waking during the nite at 5 mos and only a handful of times since has he slept more than 2-4 hrs straight during the nite. He's never really learned to put himself to sleep so, when he hit about 13 mos I was so exhausted w/getting up and down at nite that I started to just hold him in our bed and sleep propped-up eventually rolling him over and laying down beside him. I don't know if there was something wrong w/him to keep him up at nite before but now he's just gotten used to sleeping w/us. I just became pg again and need desperately for by sweet boy to learn to get to sleep on his own AND sleep in his own bed before I'm as big as a house! Any tips w/how to do this or should we just go w/a CA king-size bed?

I have a lo in the bed with me too. My older dd slept with me also till she was 5. I'm hoping to move Carlie out soon though. I don't want to wait 5 years this time. LOL! I have no advice for you except that I don't think I'm going to try to put her in her crib. I think I'm just going to get her a bed and move straight to it. Just know it will take time and LOADS of patience on your part. It's just breaking a habit. And I don't know about you, but I find it hard to break habits on my part, so you can imagine what it's like on their little parts. Good Luck! Sorry I didn't help much, but maybe it will bump you and someone else will have a good suggestion. :O}

I am like CyndiG but without any previous experience....I expect our dd will be in our bed until she is big enough to sleep in a "big bed"....and we can "reason" with her and do some reward system (stickers or something).
