Curiosity About Link Between Heavy Periods And Twins

I'm the proud mother of two 13 month old twins, and currently experiencing my second period since conceiving. (yep, I had 22 months without one--hooray for nursing!) Last month, I had an awful headache for two to three days and spotted for six. This time, I had a mood drop, then back pain a few days later along with bloating, and now I'm gushing like a fountain. (Sorry to be so graphic.) It would seem that my body is doing some heavy cleaning, and I'm wondering if that means I have one ovary that's overactive while the other doesn't always drop an egg. This would make sense, of course, since I dropped two eggs at one time to create my children. Does anyone have any information about this or know of any studies that have been done linking a tendency towards inconsistent periods (meaning one ovary produces light, the other heavy bleeding) and the occurrence of twins? Just wondering...
