How Many Weeks For Carrying Twins

Hi I'm Miss and I'm 31 weeks preggo w/ twins. I just had an appt. w/ my OB-GYN and he's had me scheduled for a C-section for week #39 of my pregnancy. I don't mind a C-section, but isn't 39 weeks seem too long to carry twins? My sister-in-law's sister was carrying twins and one of their cords detached at 38+ weeks. The other baby was taken out via emergency C-section. I've heard that 35 weeks is a good goal to get to for a twin delivery. Any thoughts? :)- Miss

I heard that for every extra baby inside to deduct 3 and a half weeks. and i alo heard that 38 weeks was full term for someone carring twins. So yeah it seems a little long. but i am sure your doctor knows what they are talkin about.

Mary...Congratulations!!!!!! Do you know what you're having yet? How far along are you? I had a level 2 U/S Friday and at 31 weeks, the boy is 4.6 lbs, and the girl is 3.9 lbs. I'm so excited for you having twins. Keep me posted and good luck! :)- Miss
