You girls are so nice. Thanks for all your comments. Well the verdict is, it's just one healthy baby!! I did not have an u/s yet, but he felt my uterus and said it is a normal size. I told him I wanted to be sure it was just one!! I heard the heartbeat (AWESOME by the way) and we only found one, so he said I could opt for an u/s if i wanted to, but that he would be pretty shocked if there was more than one in there. He also said stranger things have happened!! LOL but I am satisfied that my feeling was just that and nothing more. I am very happy to have one healthy little bean, whose heartbeat was strong!! YAY! Good luck to all of you and your multiples and thanks again!!

Asmith, I'll be watching for you, to see if your 'feeling' pans out!

Awe congrats on hearing the HB that is the best sound huh!? Anyway, so are you still going to have an U/S done anyway? I'm such a freak when I'm prego I probably woudn't be satisified until then hehe.

I know what you mean!! My Dr suggested a first trimester downs syndrome screening, which would automatically mean i would get an ultra sound, i am thinking of doing it just for that purpose! Of course to a__sess my risk for downs as well, but mostly for the u/s - especially if my insurance covers it!!

Hi. I just thought I would give you and update. I saw my doctor yesterday for my first appt. and she wants me to have a sono next week to check things out. I asked her about HCG level as an indication of twins and she said that the numbers can vary so much that she prefers ultrasound as the best determinant. I think realistically it is most likely one, I don't have any unusual symptoms and my 'feeling' for possible twins derived from an early positive on a hpt and my own instincts (both of which I know do not carry a lot of merit). So-we'll see next week and I"ll keep you posted.

Hi girls, I was just wondering if anyone has found two heartbeats on doppler all the time with a single pregnancy. I am almost 19 weeks now and have been hearing 2 heartbeats with my own high quality doppler (one at around 136-145 bpm and one usually around 145) They are on opposite sides of my abdomen. I know it's possible to hear the same hb in more than one place. But does that happen everytime you listen or just occa__sionally? I hear it every time. My dr. doesn't have a doppler and I had an early u/s for bleeding that only showed 1 baby at 9 weeks. I told her about my findings but she seems uninterested. I have another appointment on monday but I don't feel like she will take me seriously. She doesn't even measure my uterus- just feels it. Anyway, just wondering if any of you girls have found the same heartbeat in different areas with a single baby!
