question. I started clomid but didn't know it was suppose to be started on a certain day. I haven't had a cyle in a couple of months and recently stopped taking birth control. Wondering if it will matter that I don't know what day I am on? Thanks

Hi jojo, well you can take it whenever as long as you know you havn't ovulated yet, and although i've done it I wouldn't recommend it. I did it last month, ovulated CD63 and miscarried, was absolutely devestating. A friend also did it and fell pg and miscarried. So now I would not recommend it as a miscarriage is something I'd hate to see anyone go through Linda

Excuse me.....But that was actually said an OBGYN to take it whenever as long as I hadn't ovulated, I know what i'm doing taking clomid and have had it prescribed in the past and succesfully conceived and carried to term and delivered healthy babies! This time and the last were without monitoring, but then so were the times the dr prescribed it, so get off your high horse and get the facts straight before mouthing off!

Actually,I was answering jojo's question. The first time I had it prescribed I hadn't had a period in 6 months, the OBGYN said it was fine to take it when I wanted as long as I knew I wasn't pg or hadn't yet ovulated. I have had it prescribed for me by 2 different OBGYN's so I think I know how to take it >:( Both OBGYN never monitored my cycles anyway, so I think if I want to take it without prescription then that's my choice! I told my dr afterwards that I had done it anyway just incase anything went wrong. I'm not stupid, and I think the fact other ladies are asking questions first shows they aren't stupid either! Would you rather they went and took it without speaking to ANYONE at all about it. I think the fact they can at least come here and ask others who have had experience is a good thing! BTW clomid isn't an illegal drug as you previously stated, it is a prescription drug!

Just a gentle reminder that this is a board for people who want to increase their chanes of conceiving twins and the general consensus is via Clomid - so if this doesn't apply to you, go to a board that does. This board is for support and not for negatives like you. I don't think anyone should justify their actions to anyone like this, it's your decision, I believe we are all adults...aren't we??? Sunita.

mama-beans - November 30

Actually, this board is for everything to do with Twins and Multiple Birth, and all opinions are welcome, even if they don't necessary agree. Most of the women on here are giving out information and facts... good and bad. To make an informed decision about this very important subject you need both, not just the happy shiny sunshine versions.

Just wanted to give you ladies a quick update. I had a 17 week appt. yesterday and we are having a boy. We took our 29month old daughter and she loved it. She kept wanting to hear the heartbeat. Of course she doesn't understand the differance between a brother and sister, but I am glad she got to be a part of it. Lauren, any word on what you are having yet? Let us know.

Julie - December 1

Good to hear from you, Amamda. Congrats on the BOY! That's great. Lauren, I hope you're doing well.

Tiffany - December 2

Hi everyone. It has taken me a LONG time to go through all of your posts but, I LOVE THIS BOARD! All of you ladies are wonderful! My name is Tiffany and dh and I are 32. We have 2 daughters together ages 4 and11. He is a diabetic so I am starting to think his swimmers are not as abundant as they used to be. We have been trying since the birth of our 4 year old. I have had a couple of mc's and a couple of chemical pg's. I have totally normal cycles although they are starting to change a little. I spot for a couple of days then full AF then spot. So, all together Af is getting a little long and my lp is getting shorter. Lp is running about 10-12 days. Anyways, I am so glad I found you and I was wondering if I could join you? I just ordered my up pack of Clomid online.(brand name) 50mg. I am so terrified to take it after this cycle but, I am going to force myself. What days do you gals think. Since, I O on my own and I am really scared about the side effects. I was thinking 3-7. I also don't mind twins. I am on day 8 of my natural cycle. I should start the Clomid around the New Year. What side effects do I need to worry about. Which, if I have any problems I will go straight to my Dr. and tell her. Thanks and so nice to meet you! Your Friend Tiffany!

To Tiffany - December 3

Welcome Tiffany, we are a pretty open excepting group. I think the days you take it is really a personal choice with the idea that the earlier days produce more follicules but the later days produce better follicules. Side effects really do vary for each person so you won't know till you try it. I started with 25 & 50 mg and had no s/e, so I upped my dose to 100mg and really didn't feel any different. I get hotflashes and that is about it. I am ovulating today or tomorrow so I'll see if it worked for me. Good luck and HTHs. Hope everyone else is doing well, double baby dust to us all. MMOT2002

Amanda - December 4

Tiffany, I also ovulated normally and took clomid because my husband had an extremely low sperm count. It took me 5 yrs to get him to go get checked. Only 4 million per ml. We are both 30yrs old. I took clomid days 3-7 per my doctors instructions. At 50mg all I had were mild headaches that would last for about ten minutes. When I went to 100mg for my third month, I started taking them at bedtime and it really helped. I got a couple hotflashes that weren't that bad. I got pregnant that month. I really have to account it to the fact that for the first time I actually felt myself ovulate. I told my husband it was time. And now we are having a baby boy due in May. Good luck and keep us informed of your progress.

mmot2002 - December 6

Hi--well just an update on me. I finally got my coverline on fertilityfriend and am now 3 dpo. So, I am in the 2ww and wont test till the middle of December. I have felt a heavyness in my uterus but that is it. Besides loving multiples we are trying for another little boy so my bd pattern is sparse so only day of O and 2 days after O. So we'll see what happens. Take care all and double baby dust to everyone. mmot2002

Shannon - December 7

Hi all. Welcome Tiffany. How is everyone. I am 13 dpo and BFN! I am out of clomid and I want to get it from mexico so I can get several doses for the same price that I get 1 here at the pharmacy, but I don't think I would get it in time. Any suggestions? Amanda congrats on your boy. Julie, Lauren any news yet? Kim how are you and the twins? I keep praying for you and all your little ones.

Minnie - December 13

Shannon: Try InHouseDrugstore.com. I got 100mgs for 3 months(15 pills) at $54 which includes shipping. I got my package in 1 week. I have a question for all. I am 10 DPO, and I will be seeing my doctor for my yearly checkup this Friday. Do you think that it would be possible for the OB to see if I would be pregnant at that time?

Julie - December 13

Hey everyone! It's been a while. Things are going well with me and baby. I've had a few scares this time around, and so I rented a doppler so I can hear baby's heartbeat whenever I need rea__surance. It's nice to have. My 20 week u/s is scheduled for Jan. 13 (I'll actually be closer to 21 weeks, but that's ok... I just have to be patient). Minnie - probably. If not with a urine test, definately with a blood test. Good Luck!

mmot2002 - December 15

Hi all. Well I couldn't hold out any longer so at 10 & 11dpo I poas. At 10dpo, it was -, and at 11dpo It wasn't a BFP but it was a definite faint positive. So that it is getting darker is great, I am reserved but excited till I know this is for real. Anyways to add to the story, I decided I would do the "pencil test" today,( the day I kinda got a positive ) over my belly (I have been trying for a boy) to see which way it would swing. Well, I am not superst_tious at all but for all the times I have done the pencil test on different women including myself it has never done this. It started to swing a little but immediately started going in a circle, twice it did this. Well, I thought how funny till I remembered someone telling me that when it makes a circle it means you are carrying twins. Well, ONLY time can tell. So, I am excited and thought I would share my update. I plan on testing Friday again and probably once more. If it is still getting darker, I will make my first OB appointment. Take care all, and baby dust to us all. MMOT2002
