Hcg Early Positive Gut Instinct

Okay... I am officially 10 weeks along today and already have a little belly. I had my first positive pregnancy test at 8dpo. At 10dpo my hcg level was 125 and at 12dpo the level was 297. I have had a gut feeling from the beginning that I am having twins and so had my husband. A friend of mine did the "needle test" and old wives' tale to determine gender of all future babies and it said that I would be having a boy and a girl at the same time. Any possible chance here?
