Pains On Both Sides Of Abdoman Twins

i know that you are supposed to have mild cramps and usually they are mostly on what ever side the baby is on in the uterus, but what if i have them on both sides does that mean i might have twins, won't see my doctor until week 8 and i am 4 1/2 now, so i am curious?????
