Temp During Lutueal Phase

I have been taken my temps and at 37C I knew I ovulated the day before. However, month after month my temp then drops again and does NOT stay up the way the literature says it does. It dropped already to 36.7C, with 36.6 being my normal body temp. I am 44, desparately trying to get pregnant, but what's this temp drop? Anybody out there who knows??? After ovulation, I have about 2 weeks of slight cramping, almost like PMT, but I am never pregnant, though hoping.
