Hi

Im 14 weeks along and have not told my parents. I turn 20 in a few days. I didn't think id be pregnant at 19 turning 20, but thats my problems.

Ive been with my partner on and off for 6 years. Reasons we were on and off were because he was a tool during high school, ive recently told my parents we are back together and they were fine with it but i know they wont feel the same when i tell them im pregnant. My partners family know and they are very supportive, my best friend knows and she has been helping me with my mental break downs about the pregnancy. I initially was going to get an abortion but could not bring myself to go through with it. I know i will love my child but right now im too freaked out about my parents to really enjoy my pregnancy, i am excited but i always get down about telling my parents, i know my parents will be mad/sad/disappointed and probably ask where they went wrong but it was my actions and i know they will come around and love the baby, so im wondering what is the best way to let them know, i would like my best friend with me but i dont think she wants to be put in that situation.  I am so freaked out.

How about a touch of humour? After you get done opening your birthday presents go into "and now i have a surprise present for you" routine. "Guess what!" You're going to be grandparents in February.

Or go into the super helpful mode, cleaning, being polite and loving until she says "I can't understand what's got into you, you're being such a help today." That's your clue to break the news.

How about "I've been feeling a bit off lately. Does it show?" Maybe a hug will make it better. Go into a clinch and start crying.
