Back To Work

I haven't worked since I have been pregnant, I have had some issues with being extremely tired. I instead have been watching my cousin who is 2 for my aunt. Then two days a week I work at a Dental Office. I am due March 11th and I would really like to go back to being full time in August or September. My cousin just had her baby in December and she went back in mid January. She only had six weeks off. She had an awful time going back. She is having a lot of issues. She feels like she is missing out on her baby's life and I am worried that if I go back I will have the same thing especially since in the begining I will be able to stay home with her for so long! Anyway, I am just wondering if I have anything to worry about and if there are any suggestions of what I should do, or even for my cousin!! I am just kind of worried about going back to work now!!!

I am a working mother myself and just retruned to work a week ago. I was off for 4 months. Had my daughter in the January 5th. I have another daughter at home also, and its very difficult to work, but I try not to think about my girls....I do think of them, but try not to otherwise I will get upset. I know it sounds cruel, but that is how I make it through the day. When I get home, I cherish every minute I have with my girls.

I only took 4 weeks off from work, and really have not had too bad a time going back. The biggest factor is that my husband is a SAHD and is just wonderful with out baby. Also, I know I am the one paying the bills, and there is no way we would be able to switch roles b/c I make so much more than dh did. You just need to decide what the best possible scenario is for your situation and then focus on the fact that you are doing the best thing, and that it could be much worse. I used to know a woman whose husband left her w/ 6 kids and skipped out on cs, so she had to leave her baby in daycare for 15 hrs a day just to survive. I often think about her and count my blessings for all that I have.
