BaileysMummy - October 4

Hi, I am currently a sahm on maternity leave. My son is almost 10 months old and I am due to return back to work in December. I worked alone and managed the office and accounts for Nylex Water Solutions. There are now 3 girls doing my job. I intended to stay home with my little man until he was at least 2 or until preschool. I had a call from the manager at our head office today, he has kept in touch and is always asking when I'm returning. He has offered me the 'Operations Manager' position for $60,000 (AU) a yr, company car and phone!! As I worked there for 4 years and often ran the entire place when the production manager was away, he knows I am more than capable. I am going in to have a meeting with him in the morning. I don't know what to do!!! I know it is a great opportunity, I could set myself up as an operations manager for life instead of returning to an office job worth $500/wk. My partner works for himself as a motor mechanic, so he could stay with our son 2-3 days a wk, the others days would have to be day care. I'd love to hear your opinions.

sounds like a great offer!! My dd is just 3 months old and I just got back to work 2 weeks back and I gave them a notice to leave...so can't really say what I would do when my daughter is 10 months old but if you feel like you are ready, go for it! good luck!

Thanks Nita. I actually went in and spoke to them about it....once the sales managers heard I would consider returning, they also offered me a position of Sales Accounts Manager. The pay is $50k with the ph and car. I can work hours that suit me and even do my paperwork from home with my son!! I was so glad to hear that. I think I am going to take it.

Hey Nita! I was surprised to see this still here. Thanks heaps. I did take the Accounts Manager position, I have only been working for 2 weeks, but am so glad that I took the opportunity. I was so worried about leaving my ds I was ready to throw it away. My hours are very flexible, I schedule my days and have been able to work at home every morning. Bailey is loving day care so much :) They do daily activies, like painting, singing, playing with goo. He was never interested in crawling, but now that he sees the other babies moving, he has started dragging himself along the ground!! hehe, so cute (kind of like a dog when they have worms, hehe) He is really enjoying himself, which makes it so much easier for me. I am so happy and now know that I made the right decision ;) Thanks 4 the support
