My company just announced major layoffs on Monday and although my position was not affected I am still very nervous...does anyone know if you can be laid off while on maternity leave? And if so can I collect unemployment? I am so scared that I am going to go back to work and that very same day they will tell me I no longer have a job.

Im guessing.....yes you can be laid off while on maternity leave and yes you can collect unemployment benefits.

Yes, you can be laid off once you come back from your leave. If you feel nervous, update your resume now and start getting it out there. At least then you may have some prospects set up if necessary.
