I dont know if I am in the right area, but here is my question. I work with children with special needs from wheel chairs to children who are deaf. Some of my wheel chairs weigh from 100 pounds to 500 pounds. I have to lift children and all from a child weighing 60 pounds to 140 pounds.
My husband wants me to stop working since we found out. He says that being a bus aide and monitering and lifting chairs and pulling or pushing the chairs is to risky.
I love my job and the baby that is on its way. But I dont want to leave these children behind.
Please help! I am 4 mounths along...

You shouldn't be doing that heavy lifting and you'll probably feel the strain very soon. Put your child first, is all I can suggest.

Check with your doctor but I don't think you should be doing that heavy of lifting you can tear ligaments (more common when preggo due to streching) I was a flight attendant and when my doctor found out I was pushing 100lb carts at 6 months she was not happy and put me on light duty. Put your baby first.

I agree with the previous posters. I too worked with children and adults in a group home. Everyone in my group was in a wheelchair and we had to lift them in order to care for them. Once I found out that I was pregnant, I had to leave my job because the strain of the heavy lifting is not good for you or the baby. Good Luck.
