Does anyone know when the big benifits of br___tfeeding start to fade away? I want to give my daughter all the benifits but I have a very hard time pumping and I get very sore after a couple of days and I would like to know when I can start fading out br___tmilk. She is 6 months old now.

The benefits of b___stfeeding never end. The AAP recommends one year, WHO recommends 2; but if you quit now, you still gave your baby those 6 months, so don't feel bad if you can't keep up with pumping - instead feel proud that you pumped to begin with.

I know lots of mom that quit at 6 months. I've read in articles where they say a minimum of 6 months benefits your baby tremendously. Don't feel guilty. I just take it one month at a time. I'm on month four so far and back at work pumping all the time.

I agree with the other posts. You have done so great. 6 months is great. And even if you only do one bottle per day and the rest formula, that is still benefitting your daughter. If the pumping is causing soreness, you might try another pump. I got an Avent Isis and they are very inexpensive. I think it was $40 but I got it on clearance at my local grocery store for $10. It is a great hand pump and doesn't hurt.

Thank you all so much, I really appreciate what you have said and it does make me feel a lot better. I think I will feed jer formula while she is at daycare and then b___stfeed her when she is with me. I also get 2 hours off in the middle of the day so I can go see her and b___stfeed her then. Thanks again!!
