WHY DOES MY BOILED BOTTLES ETC COME OUT POWDERY AND FILMEY

I WASH AND THEN BOIL MY b ___st PUMP SUPPLIES, BOTTLES AND NIPPLES AFTER IM DONE FOR 20 MIN LIKE THE BOOK SAYS TO DO SO AND THEY COME OUT FULL OF A POWDERY COATING ALL OVER EVERYTHING. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? AND WILL THIS HARM THE MILK IF I USE THEM? I AM USING A TEFLON POT COULD THAT BE IT?

My sister has that problem with her teflon pots and pans. She also has well water with extra iron. Could one of those be the culprit?

I have the same problem with the powder. I used to boil my sons water and I started buying the baby bottled water instead. I now steralize in the microwave.

It's calcium in the water you're using. If you use bottled or filtered water, you'll eliminate the problem.

HOW DO YOU STERALIZE IN THE MICRO?

Anything gets sterilized in boiling water thich is boiled to a rapid boiling point tempature,is my guess

It's lime. Use bottled water.

Medela makes these AWESOME bags for sterilizing b___st pump parts, bottles, binkis etc. in the microwave! You just put the pieces in the bag with 2 oz. of water... then microwave for 3 minutes and voila! They are so great and each bag can be reused up to 20 times!
