Weaning My 18 Month Old Still Waking Up At Night

My 18 month old likes to nurse to go to sleep and will also wake up in the middle of the night to nurse. I believe that if I can get him uninterested in nursing, he will sleep better. Is there something I can rub on my nipples that will taste bad enough for him to lose interest? I don't feel my milk come down anymore and he has a pacifier to suck on, which he also likes. Don't want to be cruel to him, but I need sleep and he needs to fall asleep himself. Thanks!

Dear Georges Mom- IMy 18 month old also nurses to sleep and still wakes in the evening. I am desperate for sleep as well. The advice I have received from many mothers was to try lemon on the nipples. Also, band-aids. With the band-aids it was important that your son understnad the concept of a boo-boo and explain mommy has one too. Neither of these suggestions have fooled , nor deterred my son, however both were successful for my friend (3 children) and sister-in law (2 children). Good luck to you.

I'm just curious to know if you found a way yet? I'm in the same boat with my 17 month old but he doesn't like a pacifier so I'm at a loss.
