My boy won't take a pacifier but takes a bottle no problem. We waited to give him a bottle until he was about 6 or 7 weeks he took right to it and went right back to the b___st. We tried a pacifier around 8 weeks to help his need to suck and he doesn't want it at all. He now sucks his hand to sooth himself. Its all up to your baby. My sisters youngest took a while to warm up to his pacifier and then would'nt give it up til he was 3 and a half. Ugh

Nipple confusion is possible, use one if you really need to, otherwise don't risk it. I would wait at least a month if you do decide to.
