Anyone Experience Heavy Cramping

My labor flashbacks from my 1st pregnancy, which was an emergency c-section, came back today. I am having extreme abdominal cramping. Is this common? I want to call my doctor, but I thought I would check with others before he just tells me to finish my pain pills. Help.
