C Sec At 37 Weeks 4 Days Lungs Mature

Hi...Here is my situation...I went to the doctor today and she said she will do my c-sec next Friday if I have an amnio done and the test comes back that my baby girl's lungs are mature. I will be 37 weeks 4 days. Has anybody had a baby around this time and the lungs been okay or not okay. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Your baby will be considered full term. If a woman goes into labor at 37 weeks the doctors are more than happy to let her deliver.

Delivering v____ally at 37 weeks is fine, because the baby's lungs strengthen during labour and the issue about the lungs isn't as worrisome as with a c-section. For a c-section, they generally want you to wait until you are 38 weeks.

hi my baby was due june 30th but delivered by planned c section june 12th due to my diabetes and previous c section i think i was about 37 +4 my daughter was fine ,scored tops on her apgar scores we left hosp 3 days later she was born tue we left thu good luck

I had my second daughter and 37 weeks and she was healthy as can be :) Now my son was born at 36 weeks and was in NICU for 9 days. Undeveloped lungs and other thigns. But doctors told me girls develop quicker than they boys at the late gestational age

Thank you for your replys...but her lungs were not ready...so no c-sec today...hopefully next Friday...I will find out Tuesday.
