AFTER BEING PROM FOR 7 DAYS AT ONLY 30 WEEKS PREGNANT I DEVELOPED A UTERINE INFECTION AND THEY TRIED TO INDUCE LABOR AND GAVE UP 18 HOURS LATER AND GAVE ME A EMERGENCY C-SECTION INSTEAD. IT WAS MY FIRST C-SECTION AFTER HAVING 5 OTHER KIDS WITH PROM AND NO PROBLEMS WITH THIERE LABOR AND DELIVERY. SO ANYWAYS HERE I AM 2 DAYS LATER AND IM RUNNING A 101 FEVER AND MY BELLYS ALL RED AND SORE NOW. IM IN ALOT OF PAIN AND THANKFULL IM STILL IN THE HOSPITAL BUT I CAN BEARLY MOVE WITHOUT WANTING TO SCREAM. IS THIS NORMAL? DO ALL C-SECTIONS HURT THIS BAD? DOES IT TAKE LONG FOR THE INFECTION TO GET BETTER? ARE INFECTIONS UNCOMMON? IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO HELP THE PAIN? AND DOES WALKING MORE REALLY HELP YOU RECOVER FASTER?

When I was recovering from mine, the nurses told me I needed to walk to bring down my fever. The worst pain I had, other than when I was trying to get out of bed, was from gas. It will get better...don't be afraid to ask for pain medicine if you need it. (And prune juice)

Having never given birth normally I can't compare but I couldn't get out of bed the first night. Next morning I felt shaky on my legs and my belly skin felt like it was around my knees. Apparently it does take longer to recover than natural birth. Nurse told me that you're not to drive for 6 weeks and that most insurance companies won't cover you for up to 8 weeks.

I never had the problem with running and fever after I had my daughter due to an infection. But yes they are painful to have C-Section. Get up and walk around...it will be slow, but it will help alot. Don't hesitate to ask for medicine. Try to pa__s the gas....all the air built up in your abdomen will be very painful.
